Paraluna combines kinetic sculpture, LEDs and music. Its main component is a disc 10m in diameter with 17,280 LEDs. A computer controls the LEDs while rotating, raising, lowering, and tilting the disc.
Some of the LED patterns work with the rotation of the disk, creating spirals. Others use persistence-of-vision, making an image hover in space above the spinning LEDs. Spokes demonstrates both of these styles: photos.app.goo.gl/DcP9IauNTjRHENUh2
Surrounding the disc are several high-quality speakers that play classical music at comfortable, yet immersive volume, creating a comfortable, peaceful place to be. Patterns are chosen to complement each musical piece, as with Firmament:

These had surfaced to breathe. You can see the pale shape of one of the nearest whale's long pectoral flukes just below the surface. Their scientific name, Megaptera novaeangliae means "big wing from New England".

When the infant line opened to Groudle in 1893 three power cars and six trailers were supplied by G.F. Milnes. Car 3 was lost in the Laxey car shed fire in 1930 but cars 1 & 2 are now the oldest operating tramcars still on their original line in the world.
Electric traction was still in it's infancy in the 1890s and a mere ten years later the original Mather & Platt equipment was considered obsolete. Accordingly Cars 1-3 and Cars 4-9 of 1894 were re-equipped with new Brush motor bogies and equipment in 1903 which are still in use today.
