Sakrisoy #2
This shot was taken in January during a trip to the Lofoten Islands in Norway.
Taken at Sakrisoy with the distinctive outline of Ostlind Mountain on the otherside of the bay.

Another one of these "Bokeh, abstractions" Playing with a mixture of the white balance in conjunction with layers on photoshop, as well as the amount of out of focus the lens was.

Title basically says it, but it's been 2 years and like 10 days since I joined flickr, and 4 years to the day that I got back into Lego. I've somehow accumulated about 350 followers with on and off uploading which is pretty good. I've got a lot planned for next year so look forward to that. I've also got a pretty nice scene thats done but waiting for some sunlight to take pics of it, so that should be up soon. Otherwise, thanks everyone, homies are tagged, checkem out.

Barney was hoping I was about to pull a dog treat out from my coat pocket! I always mean to buy - & then switch over to using - a proper treat pouch thingy, to carry the dogs' snacks with me on walks but somehow I never do & as a result all my pockets seem to permanently have dog treats in them. My coats, light jackets, hoodies, jeans... Both collies perk up whenever my hand drifts near my pocket because they just assume I'm reaching for a tasty snack!
Barney did get a teeny tiny treat off me when I took this snapshot of him (who could say "no" to that face?!)... but sadly we're having to make some adjustments with his care at the moment & that means fewer snacks are being handed out. Around mid-month, I decided to take a urine sample up to the vet because... well, I just felt something was slightly "off" with Barney - nothing major had cropped up. Over the past year, whenever Barney's been "under the weather", it's been because he has a urinary tract infection, hence me deciding to get a urine sample. I honestly expected to be told it was clear, he was fine & I was fretting unnecessarily, or at worst, that yes, I should come pick up more antibiotics for a UTI.
It turned out Barney didn't have an infection but his urine was too dilute & there was blood & protein present. He had a blood test the following day & the vet rang the morning after & confirmed poor old Barney now has chronic kidney disease :( Given his age, it isn't surprising but at the same time... I wasn't expecting this news when I took the sample up 2 days earlier, so it's come as a shock. I do think we caught it reasonably early - the vet said his results weren't too bad. Barney's now been switched to a specialist renal diet... which is why I am now having to cut out biscuits & other snacks as much as possible. Apparently, the occasional special treat is OK but the food works best if it's pretty much the only thing they eat. Luckily, Barney does appear to love the new kibble! I'll have to start putting some of that in my pockets, I suppose. Anyway, we're taking Barney back for another check-up in a month, so fingers crossed he'll be doing alright then. Obviously, there's no cure for chronic kidney disease... but hopefully we can manage his condition & keep the old boy happy & comfortable for as long as possible
MotorSport-Revival 2
MotorSport Revival 2
The path you have taken is always part of who you are today. And so I would like to take this opportunity to show two pictures from an earlier creative period.
One of the most famous race tracks in the world is right on our doorstep. Therefore, the subject of motor sports was a central part of my activities with the camera for some years. With my good old Sony A200 and a trusty Sigma 500, I spent a lot of time at the Nordschleife. Without a properly working autofocus, those were also real teaching years.
The picture:
On 27.08.2011, the 6-hour ADAC Ruhr-Pokal race took place as part of the Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring (VLN). Raeder Motorsport entered this Audi TT RS on this day with Biela, Hohenadel and Ammermüller at the wheel and achieved a well-deserved overall victory in a spectacular race. I got the opportunity to score in a rain break at the end of the Metzgesfeld section. There I had no idea of the drama of the final...
MotorSport-Revival 2
