With a last minute heads up and a long drive, the mad dash to set up was in full effect. With at the time still fresh 6354 leading the Y118 south, the train splits the signals at Elms Rd. I also had my own new equipment that night, a new light was in my bag and shame on me for not changing the auto off custom function that ended up shutting off the light right before the train got there, which left a nice dark spot that fortunately was not on the signals or train.
In the pedestrian zone of Favoriten, the 10th district of Vienna. I live half a cigarette's smoke away from here and pass here at least once a day, when I go to work and take the underground. What I like best in the accordionist's repertoire is the Waltz No. 2 of Dmitri Shostakovich.
Colas’ 70815 crosses the Vale of Glamorgan Railway’s Porthkerry Viaduct while working an empty coal train from Aberthaw back to Avonmouth Docks.
Opened in 1897, the Vale of Glamorgan route was created to allow coal traffic from west Wales to be exported through Barry Docks. Within 10 years Barry Docks was the busiest coal port in the world, being fed primarily via the Vale of Glamorgan route.
The opening of the Aberthaw power stations to the west of Porthkerry in 1963 started a high volume flow of coal along the line in the opposite direction.
Coal exports from Barry ceased in 1976, and Aberthaw power station was downgraded to burn coal ‘as required’. After burning no coal from April to August 2017, Aberthaw began taking imported coal from Avonmouth which continued until February 2018.

Duck Landing. Not far from Knots Landing. I took a sequence of 24 shots, all within just over 3 seconds. These are four that I liked, shot within less than 2 seconds. Within 2 seconds, you can really have completely different looks, both in the duck's positioning, and the looks of the background/water colors and reflections.

What a difference 2 weeks can make, from snow and Siberian temperatures to crocuses and bees in the garden!
It was beautifully Springy here in the East this weekend, I'm sure we will have another few cold snaps before true Spring starts but this is enough for now....
We gained 3 minutes and 55 seconds of daylight today- I love this time of year :)
Wishing you all a great new week ahead.
