1) Value is represented in this photograph through the different shades of orange and yellow in the leaves.
2) The subject matter of this photograph is the changing colours in fall, especially in trees. I was standing a little bit away from this tree and I took a direct, zoomed in and focused shot of these leaves on the branches above me.
3) The most successful aspect of this photograph is the way that the light hit the leaves at that moment, showing shadows and different shades yellow and orange.
4) If I could take this photograph again, I would try taking this at different angles to see if there was a way to better show the changing colours in the tree.
TO VIEW sit back from your monitor 2 feet and place your index finger about 10 inches in front of your eyes and focus on your finger. This will cause your eyes to go comfortably cross eyed. Keep that same cross eyed focus and notice there are now 3 photos in the back ground. Do not let your eyes leave the cross eye as you look at the middle picture which has appeared. Now increase or decrease how much your eyes are cross eyed until the image pops into 3D. Your eyes will want to leave the cross eye, but fight that urge. This is an acquired skill and takes practice. Stop if it's uncomfortable.

This was a conceptual project I did for Design 2. Panel 1 had to have a poem that mentions something from nature, in this case a coconut. The poem had to be printed on something non-traditional (no printer paper). Panel 2 is a picture of the item. Panel 3 is a palette study using 6 different paint chip colors you could find in the item, then recreating them in acrylic paint, and using those colors and mixing them together to create new colors and shades. The last board had to be a 3D model of the item that in some way related back to the theme of the poem.
