If you're familiar with the blog Hyperbole And A Half then you know of the amazing Allie Brosh's reasons of never achieving adulthood. CLEAN ALL THINGS! You've seen people using her art as profile pictures on Facebook and such, I'm sure.

Well, I can't sew very well. I know, I know, people tell me that I just have to practice, that I'll get good at it. No, I won't. I can sew a button, I can sew a patch. I can sew an allegedly straight line to create a skirt- on a sewing machine. Part of my inability to sew is because of the pain in my hands. The other part is that there's something in my brain that cannot make things. I get the technical aspects of sewing, but between my eyes seeing what needs done and my hands making it happen, a monkey takes over. Not even a monkey. I'm sure a monkey could do a better job.

So, I leave the big and important renaissance clothing to professionals (or really enthusiastic hobbyists)- like bodices and overdresses. And I'll make skirts. I found this trim on Etsy and ordered it because one is black and gold- for Sir Maxmillian (so he can stop being sad and upset that I'm not wearing his colors) and the other is for Sir Mauldron.

I found the black and gold trim on another website where I can order A LOT more (which I'll need to do the trim on the skirt or skirts). I haven't found the red/gold/black again, but I can just use this for trim on smaller things and find a different style in the same colors for skirts if I need to. (I already have a lot of stuff in Mauldron's colors- even before I knew him I had those things).

But here we are... I want to SEW ALL THINGS!!! But I can't... not till my bodice is done and I can color-match fabric to make the skirts.

Just a few pictures I took on the way ghome from the diner this morning. An bypassed section of State Route 17M in Chester, NY in Goosepond Mountain State Park. Just a few ghost road pictures.

This old bridge still carries a water main to a fire hydrant far from any structure.

On 21 December 1996 Standard 2-6-4T 80079 operated a series of special trains between the 2 towns. This is 80079 near Stewartby - with the chimneys of the brick factory in the background.
