Museo de Arte Abstracto Español
Casas del Rey. Casas Colgadas. Cuenca
We celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied and multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.
We want to thank you for your interest in our work and thanks for visiting our work on Flickr, we do appreciate you and the contributions you make in furthering our interest in photography and on social media in general.

One of the most interesting places we visited on our Swain Destinations trip to PNG was the wig school, located in a large Huli village near Tari, in the Southern Highlands. Wig schools are run by Wig School Masters, and are open only to young males who have had no sexual encounters of any kind. Over the course of an 18-month program, students will grow and carefully tend to their hair with the end goal of crafting the elaborate wigs used by Huli men during tribal skirmishes and ceremonial singsings. In this image here, a group of young students are seen ritualistically watering their hair and cleansing themselves in a small mountain stream. Traditionally, outsiders have been forbidden from visiting wig schools; recently, however, the Huli Wigmen have opened their doors on certain occasions to allow visitors the opportunity to glimpse at this important bit of cultural heritage.
Flash Parker traveled to PNG courtesy of Tourism Papua New Guinea and Swain Destinations as part of AFAR’s partnership with United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), whose members provide travelers with unparalleled access, insider knowledge, and peace-of-mind to destinations across the globe.

Intercultural Life and Union Board presents Step Afrika. Step Afrika blends percussive dance styles practiced by historically African American fraternities and sororities, African traditional dance and influences from a variety of other dance and art forms. Performances are much more than dance shows; they integrate songs, storytelling, humor, and audience participation. The blend of technique, agility, and pure energy makes each performance unique and leaves the audience with their hearts pounding.
Help us develop heart-centered
high integrity young leaders.
The International Institute for Global Leadership is committed to developing leadership qualities in young adults in order to create a just, peaceful, and prosperous world for us all. Young adults from Africa, South America, and Asia are currently involved in IIGL's life-changing program.
How do we develop heart-centered leaders?
We begin with a "curriculum in consciousness," with books that help students develop a solid inner foundation of knowing who they are, why they are here and what life is all about. Then students move on to books about effective leadership, goal setting, and personal work interests. After finishing each book, students write an assessment about what they have learned and how it applies to their lives.
Can reading a book really change the world?
Let our students tell you how the IIGL curriculum has changed their lives.
Bikundo Onyari - Kenya
I used to think that beliefs cannot be changed but I have now found that it's a contradiction. The beliefs and values that are disempowering, I have now swept the aside. One such belief was on luck, that it only appears once in life. I have now proved otherwise, that there are millions of lucky opportunities that are available in the world.… Through faith, there are no limits for me now.
Kishor Bajracharya - Nepal
Satisfaction is a mental attitude. Your own mental attitude is the one thing you possess over which you alone have complete control. Set your target and keep trying until you hit it. Be alert in every circumstance for living your life happily and peacefully.
Elizabeth Tepper - Venezuela
Even my work objectives have changed regarding people... I used to think I'm not going to prepare a course or training for just a couple of persons. I do now. I realize that all that I've been learning from the first two levels and other sources must be shared. What use is it in my mind if it can't be shared or be useful for myself and others?
Rose Mbugua - Kenya
I fully agree that a real hero is a person who courageously contributes under the most trying circumstance and lives with an attitude of positive expectancy knowing that everything that happens in life benefits one in some way. I know now that I should not look for heroes but be one.
