This three-legged dog was rescued last week. Her previous owner didn't take care of her leg after she was hit by a car at 5 weeks old. She eventually chewed off her own leg to survive. She has a new home now, with a loving family.

Just a brief break from baby photos. I've taken photos from here before, but wanted to snap another one. This is from the pedestrian walkway that leads from the parking garage to the building where the pediatrician's office is located.
We had our first visit to the pediatrician yesterday for Aubrey. We have to go back next Friday just for a weight check to make sure she gains back her delivery weight. She was 6lbs even when she was born, but at the doctor yesterday she was down to 5 lbs 14 oz. However, she had already gained back a couple of ounces from what she weighed when she was discharged on Thursday at noon. I'm not concerned about her weight. She's been eating really well, so I think she'll be just fine.

I've been playing around with the idea of a watermark with a logo. I've basically been shopping around for ideas. I'm getting bored of the old Pristina print, and its done. I want something that's more specific and meaningful to me. I have one with my real name and stuff for work purposes, but for several reasons, I don't want to use that here on Flickr.
I played around with some designs, but its the same thing where I don't want the first thing someone sees of an image I post to be this giant or brightly colored watermark. There are some nice subtle ones that I've seen from people, but the designs aren't quite my cup-o-tea.
In other news, the government is still shut down. Bunch-o-babies, is what they are. If both sides are screaming that neither will budge, then really what's the point. Pack up your bags, and we shall hold another election filled with people just chomping at the bit to take their places. What absolutely sickens me is that national parks and memorials have been shut down. I remember the first day, the story of the veterans who went to Washington and were denied access into THEIR friggin' memorial until some friendlies thankfully let them in. That is one rule I hold true in life, is that no veteran should ever be denied any service that is due to them especially ones meant to honor them or their fallen. Ugh...come on America?!? Come on already!!! I feel like we as American's are caught in the middle of a nasty divorce. Mom and Dad are fighting and everything we try to do just makes things worse! I've just stopped watching CNN or any other newscast. Just more of the same news conferences where one is "more right" then the other because of course it's the others fault. To think, I stood in line for 2 hours of my time...time in which I could have gotten paid at work...to vote for all these idiots who then turn around and pull this crap. Once again I was fed the slogan that my vote counts, and once again, I am disappointed. The one thing I can say about old politics, was that there was a sense that things must go on and when times are tough, they bound together to at the very least, make an effort to see things through...there is no sense of cease fire and let the ducks cross, in Washington anymore...it's just who wants to jockey harder for 2016.
The two key points I have taken away from this is one, for politicians who talk so much smack about jobs being outsourced and needing to put more jobs in the hands of Americans, they sure have no problem basically blocking thousands of Americans from going to work due to this bs fight. Oh and point two: now...if I'm a farmer and my one and only product is milk from cows...why would I go out into the field and shoot all my cows? Hello! Tea Party?! You don't want a government at all---that, you idiots, will put you out of work as well as thousands of others if that ever really actually occurred which in a way, it kind of is. Guess who isn't going to vote for you next election...the families who are out of work because of you!!!!! This is ridiculous. I get it, they dont' want government in every corner of the bedroom, but there are some things, believe it or not, would be extremely hard to make run smoothly without a big government body at the helm. Rant over. I've got a headache.
Image: I typically freeze a bottle of water when I have to run errands around town, so as I'm in and out, the water is still cold and I can take sips and small drinks of it as it melts all the way up until my last errand. This was such a bottle. The ice started to melt away from the shape of the bottle. Looked pretty cool.
