I found this little skateboarder whilst tidying up today!

At the Eastfield terminus here's a 15A about to head back into town. Note the fine dual doors and this will be a sight strange to the travelling public very soon.

These buses are among the last dual-door service vehicles Lothian introduced and since 1999 a move to single door buses has been extensively pursued. I think the idea of having two-door operation was terrific and now entry and exiting seems a bit slower as passengers wishing to board have to wait until those leaving have alighted. I remember when I first travelled on buses

with dual doors - oh I think it must have been 1969 and the new G reg 301-350 fleet (PSC 301G). What fun we lads had and it made me anyway want rid of all the rear platform buses as soon as possible!

Today, I suppose it might be considered safer just having the one entry and exit door and I'll say one thing about Edinburgh folk - they nearly always thank the driver when alighting....now there's something you couldn't do when leaving by the middle door now could you?
