From Wikipedia: Arp 273 is a pair of interacting galaxies, around 300 million light years away in the constellation Andromeda. It was first described in the Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies, compiled by Halton Arp in 1966. The larger of the spiral galaxies, known as UGC 1810, is about five times more massive than the smaller galaxy. It has a disc that is tidally distorted into a rose-like shape by the gravitational pull of the companion galaxy below it, known as UGC 1813. The smaller galaxy shows distinct signs of active star formation at its nucleus, and it is thought that the smaller galaxy has actually passed through the larger one.
Taken with SBIG ST-8300M monochrome CCD camera and 8" Ritchey-Chretien telescope (1600mm focal length, F/8). Total exposure time of 8 hours. Taken from Cedar Key, FL. Shot during first quarter moon, so not as dark as usual. But I wanted to try this target while I had the chance.
NS #1211 is in the wind as 273 accelerates out of Portlock seen here at Shell Road. The spur to the left used to serve a long removed powerplant.

I thought I'd do a flower photo because it's the last day of September- which to me means Autumn is officially here. When I think of October, I just think of fall. Besides, my mom is going to chop down all the dead flowers anyway.

Op 12 Oktober 2019 reed de Mat 46 van het Spoorwegmuseum een rondje door Nederland. Vanuit Utrecht werd en via Zutphen en Deventer naar Apeldoorn gereden waar de genodigden een bezoek brachten aan de VSM. Op de foto passeert de 273 het regenachtige Teuge als deze onderweg is als trein 28252 vanuit Deventer naar Apeldoorn waarna het stel leeg zou doorrijden naar Amersfoort.
De 110 273 van de Centralbahn komt ter hoogte van Harrbach met een speciale trein langs richting Dortmund.
