Throwback Thursday! An all-autorack train 241 rumbles across the North Toronto Sub in some nice golden evening light in early October. At the time, 241 ran only a couple times a month usually, and timing was largely unpredictable.
232 241-0 hatte am 15.09.2020 die Aufgabe einen Kokszug von Köthen nach Bernburg (Solvay) zu traktionieren. Hier sieht man sie kurz vor dem Haltepunkt Frenz, welcher mitten in der Pampa liegt...am Arsch der Welt sozusagen. Bis vor 5-6 Jahren gab es auch noch Kokszüge vom Hafen Aken nach Bernburg, jedoch scheint auf der Strecke Köthen-Aken momentan nichts mehr zu fahren.
The little station of Frenz lay's somethat away from the World, between Köthen and Biendorf. Once in a while some action takes place, like this coke train to Bernburg with 232 241-0. Not so long ago some of the coke was driven from the little city of Aken to Bernburg but this traffic dried up around 2016...seem like a lifetime ago.

232 241-0 fährt mit ihrem umgeleiteten Bernburg Nahgüter an den Resten des ehemaligen Heizkraftwerks Aschersleben vorbei. Nur selten fuhren die Umleiter, während der Sperrung von Köthen im Jahr 2019, wirklich bis Aschersleben, um die Fahrtrichtung zu wechseln.

Une petite série de photos prises en 2019 à la Cité du train , à Mulhouse , un des plus beaux musées techniques français.
Une confusion dans mes fichiers m' a préalablement fait attribuer à cette locomotive 241 " Mountain" , le numéro P16 de la série des 35 locomotives André Chapelon sorties des ateliers du Creusot entre 1948 et 1952 . En réalité , même si elles sont très proches, cette 241 a été construite en 1925 par les ateliers d' Epernay pour les besoins du réseau des Chemins de Fer de l' Est . La 241 P16 est également conservée à la Cité du Train à Mulhouse.
Tangermünde liegt südöstlich von Stendal in der Altmark auf einer Hochfläche, die durch eine eiszeitliche Endmoräne gebildet wurde. Es liegt am linken Ufer der Elbe direkt an der Mündung des Tangers in die Elbe, woher auch der Name Tangermünde stammt. Tangermünde is located southeast of Stendal in the Altmark on a plateau that was formed by an ice age end moraine. It is located on the left bank of the Elbe directly at the confluence of the Tanger and the Elbe, which is where the name Tangermünde comes from. The historic town centre, St. Stephen's Church and the castle are safe from flooding thanks to their high elevations. The city is known for its well-preserved old town with many half-timbered and brick buildings as well as for the completely preserved Tangermünde Castle and the brick city fortifications.

241 697 befährt mit Mertz Containern die Holzlandbahn und nähert sich allmählich dem Scheitelpunkt jener Strecke. Ziel des Zuges ist Großheringen.
