This is Amy, the mother of one of my clients and one of the more complex and facinating individuals that I have had the pleasure to meet recently.
It's hard to know where to begin in the telling of this story but needless to say she is a very selfless person when it comes tot he needs of her son. Amy is a pharmacist by training, biker, tattoo aficionado and a person that should not be trifled with. Listening to Amy describe her childhood was eerily similar to mine and many dark memories of my childhood came screaming back to life after being dormant after hearing her story. The day did not end after the photo shoot was over, rather it was just the beginning. During the long drive back to Denver we realized that we could probably be blood simply by the trouble we both seemed to find as youths. After a wonderful lunch and more conversation there was a silent agreement that we would be friends. This is a trait shared by both parties. We have remained in contact and I am very pleased about this. Amy is a warm, generous and caring person who has a very steely exterior, which I presume is a defensive mechanism. Before I took this picture she told me that she photographs horribly. I very much disagree and her warmth, joy and and a little mischief come through in this portrait.
Thank you Amy for being #23/100 in my quest for 100!

The Greek Navy purchased the ship in 1914, along with her sister, the USS Idaho, renamed Limnos. Kilkis was named for the Battle of Kilkis-Lahanas, a crucial engagement of the Second Balkan War. Armed with a main battery of four 12 in (305 mm) guns, Kilkis and her sister were the most powerful vessels in the Greek fleet. The ship saw limited action during World War I. For the remainder of the war, Kilkis operated solely as a harbor defense ship. In the immediately ensuing Greco-Turkish War of 1919–1922, Kilkis supported Greek landings in Turkey and participated in the final Greek sea-borne withdrawal in 1922. She remained in service into the early 1930s, when she was used for a training ship. During the German invasion of Greece in 1941, she and her sister were sunk in Salamis by German Ju-87 Stuka dive-bombers. The two ships were ultimately raised in the 1950s and broken up for scrap. The figurehead was recovered by the US Navy, and now sits in front of the Mississippi state capitol.

This is Toyah, an ex Royal Sigs soldier who is now homeless. I stopped for a chat after seeing her sign. Toyah has been homeless now for just over 3 weeks due to an issue with her former landlord, she told me that although she finds herself in catch 22 situation (employers are not keen to take on someone who is homless) she remains upbeat and positive that a job offer will appear, and when it does she can prove she has a lot to offer. Toyah had already been stood here for 5 hours before I arrived. Good luck Toyah, I'm have a feeling you will succeed ;)
