V-22 Osprey
The V-22 Osprey is a multi-mission, military, tiltrotor aircraft with both a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capability. It is designed to perform missions like a conventional helicopter with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft. The V-22 was developed and is manufactured by Bell Helicopter, in partnership with Boeing Rotorcraft Systems. The initial operators are the United States Marine Corps and Air Force.

This is an old single-shot breech loading .22 pistol. It is made by J. Stevens and has been around a while. It has a double-cock mechanism and what looks like brass sights.
This gun belonged to my uncle, and I am not sure where he got it.
Working from a new computer and different photo software here, so this is somewhat of an experiment.
Another hike in the books for this season. This one was called Lake 22, just off of Mountain Loop Highway here in Washington. Not too bad of a hike. All the way up you get to see cool waterfalls and flowing water from the runoff of the ultimate destination, the lake itself.
So clear, so clean, so green. The water was beautiful. The fog was coming and going and we were worried that we wouldn't be able to see the lake at all once we arrived (that's what happened to my friend the last time he went). The weather was on our side this time though. The fog hung around for some cool shots though.

♫♫♪♫♪ W.A.S.P.: Forever Free ♫♫♪♫♪
I ride all alone and can't see
The road to nowhere anymore
And shadows whispers are calling me
To forbidden forests by the shore
And there she fell, deep in the night
One breath away from heaven's light
And she said - don't cry for me, I'm leaving you
The wind cries her name in the breeze
But I can't hold her anymore
Some fallen angel had come to me
And fell to heavy on my soul
And stole from me the love that I heard
Lords of time say never die
And said - don't cry for me, cause I'll be
Riding the wind forever free
High in the wind forever free
I'll ride the wind forever free
High in the wind forever free
Forever free
Forever in my hearts a fire, a fire burning
I wake up nights and hear her crying, crying my name
Riding the wind forever free
High in the wind forever free
I ride the wind forever free
High in the wind forever free
Forever free

Hulleys Volvo B7TL/Alexander ALX400 V140LGC (temporary no. 22) seen near the Surprise in atrocious conditions while working the 11:45 Sheffield-Castleton 272.
This vehicle is the first decker Hulleys have owned in many years, it was bought to provide capacity for a schools journey on the recently won 273/4/5 contract (ex 241/2 and in turn ex 273/4), it entered service eight days ago having been on display at Bus & Coach Live devoid of fleet names in early October. Between school runs, the vehicle moonlights on service 272, a joint operation with First, Hulleys' journeys differentiated in that they serve Bamford itself as opposed to just the railway station.
On a 3-day, 600+ mile round trip railfan adventure north into "Gods Country", our escapade starts out on a high note as we come across ELS 501 parked in a position seemingly just for us. Stopped and idle leading a southbound freight at Nejedlo Road and US141 south of Wausaukee, WI along with leader 503, the opportunity to spend copious amounts of pixels on ex-MILW 22 started in earnest.
My last encounter with 22 was 36 years ago in the exact opposite season. Ironically, in 1986 I photographed it on the shortest day of the year, and this time I shot it just 2 days shy of the summer solstice:

Well here we have another diptych. I spotted Tilly from a way off. Peter and I were at the end of the street trying to decide whether to go this way or that but my feet made the decision for me.
Tilly was cleaning the windows of her shop when I approached her. She looked a little startled when I asked her for a picture but after a quick glance to a colleague inside to check it was OK agreed happily. I had to ask her to put down the windowlene and cloth though.
I really loved the texture on her trousers and wanted a full length picture but once again couldn't resist a close shot of her beautiful face. We tried a few and after reviewing them agreed on this one. I had another full length picture without a person messing up the side but I liked her the way she had her hands posed in this one so decided that this one was the best despite the guy walking by.
Thanks Tilly, I think we did a fab job here. Please get in touch if you'd like high res copies.
North British Type 2 (later Class 22) 1,100 hp B-B No.D6351 in BR green livery with small yellow warning panel and divided headcodes on hydraulic jacks and undergoing repairs to its frame in the diesel repair shop (converted from the steam repair shop) at Old Oak Common shed Open Day, 07/67. The Class 22's were one of BR's (& NB's) greatest failures of the early diesel designs - and there were quite a few candidates for that accolade! Scanned photograph taken with a Kowa SET.
