Wellingborough:

Top photo shows a four track station, semaphore signals and a few cars in the station car park. BR class 45 Peak 1Co-Co1 diesel 45108 accelerates away to the north after making its stop at the station on 12 April 1982. Photographed from Mill Road bridge using a Minolta SRT-101 on Kodachrome slide film.

29 years later, on 5 Sept 2011, and from the same location, an East Midlands Trains class 221 Meridian, 221017, also accelerates away to the north. The car park is hidden behind trees but I guess it was full of commuters' cars and there is much over growth on the far side of the tracks. The station itself is down to three tracks and the semaphores have gone. In the background there is an enormous warehouse and a mobile phone mast stands just above the new footbridge at the station. Taken on a Nikon D5000 DSLR.

In 2020 the scene looks different again - a new station and new train operator so there is the opportunity of taking another similar shot if I can get it given there is a new road bridge in the way!
