Interior, Dom St. Stephan, Passau. The Baroque cathedral dates from 1668, but the altarpiece is obviously 20th Century, and was installed after WWII. It depicts the stoning of St. Stephen. The locals reportedly hated it, but accepted their bishop’s recommendation to keep it.

This is simply "I paid 699l for this hair which I'll only ever wear in one colour but I'm feeling my fit so let me stand in front of greenery and pretend I still model."*

Amélie-les-Bains-Palalda, Vallespir, Occitanie, France.

Amélie-les-Bains-Palalda is a French commune and town located in the Pyrénées-Orientales department and the Occitania region, in the Vallespir region. It had 3,683 inhabitants in 2007.

Administratively, it belongs to the Céret district, the canton of Arles-sur-Tech and the Communauté de communes du Haut Vallespir.

The commune is located in the Tech Valley, in the heart of the Vallespir, west of Céret. It can be accessed by departmental highway 115. Before being dismantled in the 20th century, it also had railway services. A greenway is planned to follow the route of the old railway (up to Arles-sur-Tech).

In reality, Amélie-les-Bains-Palalda is made up of three once separate municipalities: Amélie, Palalda (annexed in 1942) and Montalba (annexed in 1962). For this reason, the communal landscape is quite varied. Most of the population is concentrated on the banks of the Tech. It is worth noting the geological formation of the Mondony gorges.

Saltburn Pier on the 20th February 2019. The pier was built at the end of the 1860’s and opened in 1869. As built it was 1,500 feet long and with a steamer landing stage at the head of the pier and two circular kiosks at the entrance. On the night of 21st October 1875, gale removed 300 feet of the structure at the seaward end, including the landing stage and it was not replaced reducing the length of the pier to 1,250 feet. Storms in the early 1970’s reduced the length further to 1,100 feet. In 1975 the council submitted an application to have the pier demolished. A "Save the Pier" campaign led to a public enquiry, which concluded that only the final thirteen piers, could be removed reducing the length to 681 feet. The shortened pier was refurbished in 1978 and again in 2000 and is now a Grade II listed building.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of "the Fellowship of the Ring" we have made a collection of 20x20 builds depicting iconic scenes from the movie. My build shows the scene where the hobbits hide from a ringwraith. Make sure to check out the other builds at the tagged users .

GBRf 66713 Forest City approaches Hartlepool working 6B64, 11:27 North Blyth – West Burton loaded coal train, 20th February 2019.

Locomotive History

66713 is one of an order of five class 66 locomotives (66713 – 66717) built in the spring of 2003 by General Motors, Electro Motive Division, at their factory in London, Ontario, Canada for HSBC Rail (Leasing) and leased to GBRf.

The current station was built by the North Eastern Railway and opened in 1880 replacing the 1841 station. It was originally named West Hartlepool until April 1967 when it became Hartlepool. The Up through platform (platform 3) was taken out of use and the footbridge removed in the around 1990 and the canopy on platform 3 removed around 2008 when the station was refurbished.

For some strange reason the southbound freight services are also crossed over onto the down line and through platform 2 instead of using the Up line which was quite rusty on my visit.

How long is 20 years ?

If its's a tree, it would be so big and so tall...

If it's a book, the pages would be yellow and probably dog-eared cover..

If it's a child, he/she would have turned into a young person full of energy to go find their world...

If it's a photograph, it probably has faded so much...

and

If it's a clock, the short & long arms would have passed "12" thousands of times...

For the past 3 years, sometime during the week before Christmas, somebody has decorated the fir trees in the park. I have no idea who does this but I LOVE to see it.

The baubles stay there for about a fortnight and then just as mysteriously they all vanish one night.

I love random acts like this.......they make me smile so much!
