The last Great Southern for the 22/23 season crosses the floodwaters at Murray Bridge on Friday Feb 17, 2023. “Fantas” NR30-31 are powering train 6AK8. By the time the train starts a new season in Dec 2023, the floodwater will be long gone and the floodplain returned to agriculture.

Die Getreideernte im Sommer 2023 fiel buchstäblich ins Wasser.

Am 07.07. war der erste Druschtag und am 20.08. ist der letzte Weizen gedroschen worden. In der Regel kommt das alles innerhalb von 20 Tagen ab. Die Qualität ließ auch mancherorts zu Wünschen übrig.

Brotweizen musste als Futterweizen verkauft werden um nur ein Beispiel zu nennen.
