67018 helmed the ManWag set for much of the period between September and November, only interspersed with 67016. This Llandudno Junction angle is not very often photographed but it displays graphically the engulfing of the old goods yard with the forest. Long gone are the days when you never knew what would turn up in the sidings, from my own experience I'd often rock up and find anything, including - a single DRS 20, a full 47 + FGW rake of stock (which I spotted reversing out of the siding from afar - never saw this unusual move mentioned anywhere), a loaded ballast train with a 'heavy' 37 at the head, several assorted FNW units during strike days and, most memorably of all, a HST with Large Logo liveried 47847 at the head.
I digress! Back to the here and now and 67018 departs platform 3 with the 09:50 Manchester Piccadilly - Holyhead. This loco has now exited the Arriva pool. This was the only occasion that I photographed a 67 in October - last year I didn't shoot one at all! October's a bit nothing-y for me, a limbo month, not quite summery and warm, not quite gloomy and wintry. The autumn leaves look best in November too, here it's a 'meh' mix of greeny yellow.

This is my favorite dish from Kowloon--my favorite Chinese restaurant in the city. The owners are extremely friendly and the food is amazing.

This was the only "bad" weather day of our entire trip. Fortunately, the rain had stopped by 1:00 and it also happened to be the only two-night stay that we had planned the entire trip. We planned to visit Arches National Park this day and Canyonlands National Park the following day. The rain gave us an excuse to sleep in a bit, take our time in the morning getting out and we stopped for lunch at a local brew pub before heading to Arches. The sun finally started coming out nearer to sunset and I got some pretty cool shots with my real camera around that time. I came back to Arches early the next morning to get some shots with better sky and better lighting, then we went on to Canyonlands. Here, I set my real camera down on a rock and propped my iPhone against it to snap off a few shots.
