Our new dog Bruno spent the night under my computer desk and wouldn't come out for any reason; although I did catch him coming out for a short time when I watched on the surveillance camera from work. Once I arrived home, I had to recapture him and we took him to our vet to check him for a chip which he did not have. I brought him brought him back home and after a bath Bruno has become an entirely different dog.

I bought this mask because I always thought they looked interesting in the past, but then i later learned about the history and reason for the masks.
The plague doctor's costume was the clothing worn by a plague doctor to protect him or her from airborne diseases. The costume, originating in the 17th century, consisted of an ankle length overcoat and a bird-like beak mask often filled with sweet or strong smelling substances (commonly lavender), along with gloves, boots, a wide brim hat, and an outer over-clothing garment.
The mask had glass opening the eyes and a curved beak shaped like that of a bird. Straps held the beak in front of the doctor's nose. The mask had two small nose holes and was a type of respirator which contained aromatic items. The beak could hold dried flowers (including roses and carnations), herbs (including mint), spices, camphor, or a vinegar sponge. The purpose of the mask was to keep away bad smells, which were thought to be the principal cause of the disease in the miasma theory of infection, before it was disproved by germ theory. Doctors believed the herbs would counter the "evil" smells of the plague and prevent them from becoming infected

I recently had my dog Luna "chipped" so that if she becomes lost and is found, the chip placed under her skin can be read and reunited. The company now sends me regular e-mails about chipped pets lost in my neighborhood. This last week, Home Again: sent me a Lost Pet Alert email about this dog: Bruno. Driving home this morning, I saw a dog lying in the street that seemed to look exactly like this missing dog. Concerned, I tried to catch the dog....it ran away. Gary got in his car and tried to see if the dog would get into the car....he didn't. In the end, a third person stopped and got out of their car and helped us ultimately corner and catch this dog.
Once I put him on the floor, he wouldn't move out from under my computer desk and became very mean and protective. He wouldn't let anyone near him for the first two days without growling and becoming aggressive.
Let me in
