In addition to voting for President, in California we are voting for our Congressional Representatives, a Senator, various state and local offices, and all of these propositions. Among other things, we are deciding whether to legalize marijuana, continue to ban plastic shopping bags, and whether to end or change the death penalty.

Election Day on November 8, 2016 began with long lines to vote. There were long lines and high participation throughout the day.
Mr.Stringer planned on casting his vote for President elect Donald trump despite the presence of about 300 demonstrators pleading to change the elector's votes.

The fundraiser was to help re-establish the Young Patriot Organization in the 21st Century.
The Young Patriots were a group of poor southern migrants in 1960's Chicago who were part of a revolutionary alliance with the Young Lords Organization (a Puerto Rican group) and the Black Panther Party (a Black organization). Together they formed the original Rainbow Coalition. Soon afterward Rising Up Angry, a working class white Chicago organization also joined.
