So this is the house that the window belongs to. As you can see from previous images below the creeper goes a lovely red in Fall, but now sadly the porch has gone. I was able to get in here before but no chance now, far too risky. There's not much holding it up underneath you can see right under a the back.

Another from the archives I thought I would throw out there as quite representative of the tumultuous year 2016 has been; Brexit, Trump, Syria, Turkey, celebs / singers passing etc etc.
The shot itself was taken from a Jetty on Noosa North Shore (Australia) on a hot summers night. Incredible to watch the storm first pass overhead then to rain bolts of lightning down on the mainland. I am pleased (read: smug) to say I remained nice and dry while kicking back with a beer in one hand and shutter release cable in the other! The image is a blend of 16 shots from at least 100 that were fired off in order to time the capture of each lightning strike.
Have a great end to 2016 folks, not long now.
Another from the archives. Trying to clear out a couple shots before I start on some new shots. This is a single-frame shot of the Houston Skyline taken at the same time as a pano I previously posted.

Orlestone is three hundred and eighty eight hectares in size. It is predominantly mixed native broadleaves and a small percentage of conifer.
The area is a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), managed principally for birds and butterflies.
There is a medium sized car park and picnic area, with a height barrier at the main entrance. . All roads are unsurfaced. As it is very low lying, it has a tendency to flood in winter.
Monument met uitkijktoren op de Afsluitdijk, daterend uit 1933, gesitueerd op de plaats waar de dijk in 1932 werd gesloten. Het monument bevindt zich op circa vijf kilometer afstand van het voormalige eiland Wieringen aan de zuidzijde (IJsselmeerzijde) van de Afsluitdijk. Het monument werd ontworpen door architect W.M. Dudok in een expressionistische bouwtrant en bevat een bronzen reliëf uit 1935 en granieten beeldhouwwerk van H. Krop. Getuige het opschrift in de linkeronderhoek van het bronzen reliëf, is het reliëf gemaakt bij Bronsbeeldgieterij A. Binder te Bloemendaal. Het monument werd uitgebreid in 1952-1956. De loopbrug (voetgangersviaduct) over de snelweg nabij het monument, dateert uit omstreeks 1977. Het souvenirwinkeltje in de toren dateert uit 1982. N.B. Souvenirwinkeltje en loopbrug vallen niet onder de bescherming.
