Monument met uitkijktoren op de Afsluitdijk, daterend uit 1933, gesitueerd op de plaats waar de dijk in 1932 werd gesloten. Het monument bevindt zich op circa vijf kilometer afstand van het voormalige eiland Wieringen aan de zuidzijde (IJsselmeerzijde) van de Afsluitdijk. Het monument werd ontworpen door architect W.M. Dudok in een expressionistische bouwtrant en bevat een bronzen reliëf uit 1935 en granieten beeldhouwwerk van H. Krop. Getuige het opschrift in de linkeronderhoek van het bronzen reliëf, is het reliëf gemaakt bij Bronsbeeldgieterij A. Binder te Bloemendaal. Het monument werd uitgebreid in 1952-1956. De loopbrug (voetgangersviaduct) over de snelweg nabij het monument, dateert uit omstreeks 1977. Het souvenirwinkeltje in de toren dateert uit 1982. N.B. Souvenirwinkeltje en loopbrug vallen niet onder de bescherming.

Sunset has just gone over Henley Beach Jetty in South Australia.

Well do I have allot to say. To start off BFVA this year was by far my best! Many people were much more appreciative of others displays/works for the convention itself. It seems as if everyone gets alone better with those still exceptional few. I would like to say if you are tagged in this photo it mean's you've really helped inspire me or maybe we've talked about appreciating each others work!

Now I really need to thank all of the members in St. Mere Eglise for pulling such a great display together! I'd also like to point out a few people for making this year one to remember, Nikita, Max, Alex, George, Michael, Brailey, Elliott, Hunter, Chetin, Miles, Brendon, Papa Sweeney, Erik, Jack, Tobias, Greg, Sam, Brian (CB), Will (BA), and many more!

This comet is low in the southwest at dusk. Presently, it is not visible to the unaided eye but can be seen with binoculars.

I have to add, I can't abide by the suggestions of some of our american presidential nominees that we should sequester and/or patrol the neighborhoods of our american muslims.

it's a rather non-creative proposal, it's been done before; it reminds me of the pogroms of hitler, and the japanese internment camps of WWII.

I thought we were a nation for religious freedom.
