Eclipsed -It took almost 3 years, and 3 attempts to realize this picture .Idea came up in May 2011 over a cup of coffee.Two attempts were made in 2012 ,but failed due to fog and clouds (No attempt was made in 2013 ) .3rd time in 2014 , I got the success in shooting what I wanted for so long :)
In all truthfulness, we came here just to watch the 56 go by as it was 90% cloud and it didn't look like there was any chance of sunshine, but out of nowhere a blue hole appeared and as luck would have it, so did the 56.
56094 powers through Chellaston on 14th June 2012, working 6E07 1151 Washwood Heath - Boston Docks. Personally I think it looks a lot better without the 47 dead in train...
The University of Tampa (UT), is a private, co-educational university situated in Downtown Tampa, Florida, United States along the Hillsborough River. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In 2006, the University celebrated its 75th anniversary.
The Henry B. Plant Museum is located in the south wing of Plant Hall on the University of Tampa’s campus, at 401 West Kennedy Boulevard. Plant Hall was formerly known as the Tampa Bay Hotel, which was a 511 room resort hotel opened on February 5, 1891 by Henry B. Plant near the terminus of his rail line. The museum's exhibits focus on Gilded Age tourism, the elite lifestyle of the hotel's guests,and the building's use during the Spanish–American War. It was designed by architect J.A. Wood who also created the old Hillsborough County Courthouse and the Oglethorpe Hotel.
The museum is open to the public every day except Monday and major holidays. During the Christmas holiday season, the museum hosts the annual Victorian Christmas Stroll.
The entire building (under the title of Tampa Bay Hotel) is a U.S. National Historic Landmark, designated as such on December 5, 1972. On April 18, 2012, the AIA's Florida Chapter placed the building on its list of Florida Architecture: 100 Years. 100 Places.

Saint Vitus' Cathedral (Czech: Katedrála svatého Vita, French Cathédrale Saint Guy ) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Prague, and the seat of the Archbishop of Prague. The full name of the cathedral is St. Vitus, St. Wenceslas and St. Adalbert Cathedral.
Located within Prague Castle and containing the tombs of many Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors, this cathedral is an excellent example of Gothic architecture and is the biggest and most important church in the country. The cathedral is under the ownership of the Czech government as part of the Prague Castle complex.

With a section of Babbacombe Road closed for re-surfacing work a diversion is currently in place via Perinville Road, Redenhill Road & St Anne's Road. Perinville Road is not a wide road and has many cars parked along one side of it, even though some parking restrictions are in place. There's not enough room for large vehicles to pass on sections, at one point I had to stand on someone's driveway so that oncoming traffic could use the pavement to pass a bus!
Pictured pulling out of Perinville Road onto Redenhill Road is 15802, WA61KZN, on a 22 to Dawlish Warren. After managing not to ground the bus and waiting for the car to reverse all that was left to do was avoid lopping the overhanging tree on the corner and he was away!

Masjid Negara – National mosque
The ultra modern mosque, with its design based upon the Grand Mosque in Mecca, with 48 smaller green domes dotting the courtyard, and one large blue tiled dome. It has a large capacity of 15,000 people and is surrounded by lush greenery which expands to a 13-acre land (53,000 m2). Around the compound are many reflecting pools and fountains.
The mosque was actually built on the site of a church in 1965. The original structure was designed by a three-person team from the Public Works Department: UK architect Howard Ashley, and Malaysians Hisham Albakri and Baharuddin Kassim.The mosque has been standing firm on its grounds since then and is now deemed as an important symbol of the Islamic country of Malaysia.
The best features of the mosque are the 73 meters ( 240ft) high minaret and its 18 pointed star which is its main roof. The main roof's design was inspired from the idea of an open blue umbrella while the minaret is like a folded umbrella. The roof symbolizes the 5 pillars of Islam and the 13 states of Malaysia.
The umbrella, synonymous with the tropics, is featured conspicuously - the main roof is reminiscent of an open umbrella, the minaret's cap a folded one.
The National Mosque of Malaysia has a capacity of 15,000 people and is situated among 13 acres (53,000 m2) of beautiful gardens.
The building itself includes a hall, a mausoleum, a library, offices, an open courtyard.
The mausoleum, situated at the rear of the mosque, stands in a circular reflecting pool and is connected to the main building by a covered foot-bridge. It is circular in shape and is covered by a pleated shell concrete dome similar in shape to that of the Grand Hall but with only seven folds, one of which covers a reserve for the national hero’s tomb.
Non-muslims are welcome, however there is a different entrance for “tourists” and of course there are set hours around the prayer times. Special purple hooded cloaks are provided if you are not appropriately dressed.
Near the main prayer hall, there are volunteers who would be more than willing to explain the history and some information about the building and the religion to you.
This was the scene at the Square in front of the Hôtel de Ville de Paris on Sunday, in front of the big screen where you can watch the Olympics. Imported red telephone boxes ... and genuine Parisian rain!

Free-lensing is when you actually take the lens off the camera. It works best at night or with low light, because more light gets into the camera, make the photo become over-exposed, even with a fast shutter speed (I used 1/4000). You don't need to tilt the lens too much, just experiment with how much you want in focus (it will never be completely sharp). It also helps if you adjust the focus while the lens is still on the camera, because you'll need both hands to support the lens.
I had to straightened this image quite a lot, which meant that I cut off quite a bit off the in-focus area, but I think it worked well for a first try (:

"San Francisco of the near future could be a place where thousands of young high-tech workers pack into 12-by-12-foot boxes in high-rises, each equipped with a combination desk/kitchen table, a single bed and the overall feel of a compact cruise ship cabin.
A developers’ group is pushing the idea that tiny apartments could be the answer to rising rental prices, and has convinced the Board of Supervisors to put the proposal up for a vote next Tuesday.

This one started with Air Canada in 1991 as C-GAGL. Retired in 2004 and converted to a freighter. She then became B-2477 with Air China Cargo. In 2012 she moved to ACT Cargo. She is now almost 25 years old.

On my Trip to Stuttgart I took this panorama of the Porsche Museum and Center in Zuffenhausen. The museum was designed by the architects Delugan Meissl and was opened 2009. In front is parked a Porsche Panamera Hybrid. The building to the right is the local Porsche dealer which was designed by the Dutch architect Cepezed and was opened 2000. One World Trade Center (1 WTC) is the main building of the new World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City, New York. The 104-story supertall skyscraper is being constructed in the northwest corner of the 16-acre World Trade Center site, occupying the location where the original 8-story 6 World Trade Center once stood. The building is bounded to the west by West Street, to the north by Vesey Street, to the south by Fulton Street, and to the east by Washington Street. Construction on below-ground utility relocations, footings, and foundations for the building began on April 27, 2006. The tower's steel structure topped out on August 30, 2012, and work is currently underway on its spire.
By the time of its scheduled completion in late 2013, One World Trade Center will be the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and the third-tallest building in the world by pinnacle height, with its spire reaching a symbolic 1,776 feet (541.3 m) in commemoration of the year of American independence. It has been the tallest building in New York City since April 30, 2012. On March 30, 2009, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that the building will be known by its legal name, One World Trade Center, rather than the colloquial name, Freedom Tower. The new World Trade Center complex will also feature three other high-rise office buildings, located along Greenwich Street, and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, located just south of One World Trade Center, where the Twin Towers once stood. The construction is part of an effort to memorialize and rebuild following the destruction of the original World Trade Center complex during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
I took a break from my main project (I'll keep it in secret for now) and was just googling aroung looking for some new inspiration. And then I found this!!! What you see here was not the attempt to copy it, I just took the initial frame idea and some interesting details from there and completely changed the proportions. Buiding this took almost all the time I've reserved for sleep))

long week-end sur la côte d'Opale sud (fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%C3%B4te_d'Opale) : sur la plage de Berck (l'immense plage), se trouve, en longeant les dunes, des poteaux de ce type, chaque ligne étant espacée de quelques centaines de mètres. Apparemment, cela sert à stabiliser le sable. La mer commençait à remonter, et elle va vite.
L'occasion de tester mon nouveau Canon 17-40 pour quelques poses longues.

Candid portrait of a Hindu religious ascetic (Sadhu) after a holy dip at Gangasagar
Gangasagar pilgrimage and fair, held annually, is the second largest congregation of mankind (more than 0.8 million this year) after the holy Kumbha Mela. Gangasagar finds mention in sacred texts and ancient scriptures of Hindu mythology including the two great Hindu epics, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.
The river Ganga (Ganges) which originates in the Gangotri glacier in the snow clad high Himalayas, descends down the mountains, reaches the plains, flows through ancient pilgrimage sites, and drains into the Bay of Bengal. A dip in the ocean, where the Ganga meets the sea is considered to be of great religious significance particularly on the Makara Sankranti day (January 14/15), when the sun makes a transition to Capricorn from Sagittarius. Almost a million of Hindu devotees from all over India gather at Gangasagar for a holy dip and perform rituals and prayer (puja) with a belief that it will cleanse and purify their souls.

In 1951, Volkswagen prototyped a 1.3 L diesel engine.
Volkswagen made only two of these air-cooled boxer diesel engines (not turbocharged), and installed one engine in a Type 1 and another in a Type 2. The diesel Beetle was time tested on the Nürburgring and achieved 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 60 seconds.

Die Volkswagen AG nahm den Käfer aus dem deutschen Vertriebsprogramm. In den folgenden Jahren boten freie Importeure wieder Käfer aus mexikanischer Produktion an.
Die Handelskette Rewe sorgte im Juli 1995 für Furore, als sie von einem freien Importeur gelieferte Käfer in Deutschland in ihren Supermärkten anbot. Im Juni 1996 folgte der Baumarkt Praktiker.

Umstritten und nicht eindeutig geklärt sind die möglichen frühen Beiträge von Josef Ganz zur Entwicklung des Ur-Käfers.
Den ersten Prototyp von Ganz bauten 1930 die Nürnberger Ardie-Werke.
Daneben erhielt der damals tschechoslowakische Automobilhersteller Tatra im Jahr 1961 eine Entschädigung in Höhe von 3.000.000 DM von Volkswagen. Das Urteil traf das Gericht wegen Patentverletzungen bei Motor und Design des Tatra 97.

One World Trade Center (1 WTC) is the main building of the new World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City, New York. The 104-story supertall skyscraper is being constructed in the northwest corner of the 16-acre World Trade Center site, occupying the location where the original 8-story 6 World Trade Center once stood. The building is bounded to the west by West Street, to the north by Vesey Street, to the south by Fulton Street, and to the east by Washington Street. Construction on below-ground utility relocations, footings, and foundations for the building began on April 27, 2006. The tower's steel structure topped out on August 30, 2012, and work is currently underway on its spire.
By the time of its scheduled completion in late 2013, One World Trade Center will be the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and the third-tallest building in the world by pinnacle height, with its spire reaching a symbolic 1,776 feet (541.3 m) in commemoration of the year of American independence. It has been the tallest building in New York City since April 30, 2012. On March 30, 2009, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that the building will be known by its legal name, One World Trade Center, rather than the colloquial name, Freedom Tower. The new World Trade Center complex will also feature three other high-rise office buildings, located along Greenwich Street, and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, located just south of One World Trade Center, where the Twin Towers once stood. The construction is part of an effort to memorialize and rebuild following the destruction of the original World Trade Center complex during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
