Advertising 100 years (100 jahre) of the famous Swiss Postbus service, SBB CFF FFS Re 460 No. 460 006-0 pushes a Brig to Bern train through Spiez on a sunny October 20th, 2006. This is one of the more tasteful of the SBB advertising liveries.
On a gorgeous autumn day, BLS Cargo 485 class electric (basically the same as the DB 185 class locos pictured elsewhere in this gallery) No. 485 005-3 hauls a short freight into Spiez, Switzerland, on October 20th, 2006. Spiez is a major station on the Lötschberg route through the Alps and is the location where loco changes are made. In this case, a further 485 class locomotive will be placed on the front of this train to help it manage the stiff grades.
Inter-city train No. 824, the 11.41 Romanshorn-Zurich-Brig powers around the curve just south of Frutigen station on October 20th, 2006. In command was one of SBB CFF FFS' ubiquitous Re460 electrics, No. 460 060-7.

I set my cup on the roof of my car while strapping in the kids, then forgot about it and drove away. This picture was taken a good 1/3 mile from home, yet somehow it stayed put. Another day my travel mug flew into the ditch. I had to pull over and run across the street to retrieve it, Miss A waiting in the back seat and laughing.
