I cant drag the name of this place out of my head just now, but it's quite beautiful.
And I posted some shots from the same location last summer.
Beautiful scenery, not that fun to get there on the other hand through 1m thick snow.

Today I took a long walk in the sunshine. It seems like forever since I have done that - much too long.
Although I love b&w photography (probably 75% of my images are b&w), to brighten things up around here for spring after what seems like a VERY long winter, I've decided to post only colour images this month. Actually, I noticed that Joseph did this in february & I thought it was a good idea...so I stole it!

60040 Territorial Army Centenary approaches Ancaster station with 6E02, 12:20 Toton – Boston steel, 5th August 2020.
Locomotive History
60040 was built at Brush, Loughborough at the beginning of 1991 and was eventually accepted into traffic on the 6th February 1992, allocated to Stewarts Lane MPD for construction traffic duties. I first saw 60040 at the Brush works on the 12th April 1991. Between June 2005 and September 2011 it was in and out of store on a regular basis. However in June 2008 it was selected for repainting into a promotional livery for the Army and lost its Brecon Beacons nameplates in favour of The Territorial Army Centenary, which were unveiled at the National Railway Museum, York. In November 2011 it entered the class 60 overhaul programme at Toton and was released back into traffic in June 2012 repainted into Standard DB Schenker red livery.

Took a trip up to the lake yesterday for sunset because it looked sort of promising. The clouds almost moved over above the mountain but not quite.
This was sort of an experimental shot with a long exposure (195 seconds). It was windy anyways, making it hard to get a good reflection of the mountain, and causing the foliage to constantly move... It's not technically perfect by any means, but I decided to post it anyways...
I'll also add that while there was some nice color in the sky, the stacked filters do push it over the top a bit...

I have hundreds of Polaroids and yeah, someday I'll scan them all, 'cause those are probaly the photos I love most, but it's just so much work, so I quickly shot a simple collection of some SX-70s I made in September 08.
The remains of 58022, a recent arrival at Wirksworth, Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, 29th August 2020. 58022 is to be further dismantled to allow the chassis to be used in the recreation of a London Midland and Scottish Railway prototype main line diesel 10000.
Locomotive History
The British Rail designed Class 58 was of modular construction, allowing quick and easy interchange of parts with the most noticeable departure from previous designs being that the body sides were non load-bearing. Instead, the chassis which supported all the weight, was of girder construction. Another departure from the norm was that there was no interior walkway between the cabs (i.e. within the engine room. The class were built at Doncaster Works and deliveries commenced in 1983, with the last locomotive being accepted in March 1987. 58022 entered traffic in December 1984 and was withdrawn in March 2002 and has been slowly decaying now for nearly eighteen years.

This is a redux of this picture

I've always liked the emotion of this picture. However my execution was....problematic. Since I'm in redux mode, I thought I'd give it a try, but nothing I did could make much of a difference. Then I tried monochrome and yay! I wish I could have kept even the muted colors, but it just didn't work. I also adjusted contrast, exposure, sharpening, and cropping.
