Oct. 26 saw a fantastic photo charter with Soo Line 1003 on the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad. It was very well organized, and the weather was perfect. Running on WSOR's Milwaukee Subdivision, No. 1003's crew demonstrates how to conduct a run-by with a perfect smoke plume running east at 40 mph through Iron Ridge, Wis. No flapping flags, sealed beam headlights, or aux tenders - just a good old freight hog!
