This is part 2, it has a gigantic showcase of Egyptian and Sumerian work, Americas, Renaissance and Europe, Indian and Asian and East Asian Exhibit. This is probably one of the few places you can see the historical database of Iraq and Syria original artifacts. We were arguing if its right to have such important works of history at display in an American museum rather than their home countries, but had these artifacts been in Syria and Iraq, especially post the war they would have been damaged beyond repair or lost forever. They are very respectful and accurate. Have a huge database of levant history from the origins.

Aperture : f/7.1

Shutter Speed: 2

It took several tries to get the right amount of exposure in this photograph. I had to keep changing the shutter speed.

This photo I took in the venue satisfies with requirement 2. It was taken by shutter mode: in order to have motion blur, I set the shutter speed very low for 0.8 seconds. I set a large aperture to light the picture and a high ISO to increase the noise. Because of the natural hand-shake, people's movement and 0.8-second exposure, the photo is displayed as motion-blurred.

カツオドリ The brown booby (Sula leucogaster) is a large seabird of the booby family, Sulidae, of which it is perhaps the most common and widespread species.[2] It has a pantropical range, which overlaps with that of other booby species. The gregarious brown booby commutes and forages at low height over inshore waters. Flocks plunge-dive to take small fish, especially when these are driven near the surface by their predators. They only nest on the ground, and roost on solid objects rather than the water surface.

It was less than a half mile from Horseshoe to Siouxon falls. I made it in good time and I should have worked my way down to the splash pool here as well but didn't.

The lighthouse was built in 1874 with lumber from California redwoods.[2] It was designed by Paul J. Pelz who also designed Point Fermin's sister stations, East Brother Island Light in Richmond, California, Mare Island Light, in Carquinez Strait, California (demolished in the 1930s), Point Hueneme Light in California (replaced in 1940), Hereford Inlet Light in North Wildwood, New Jersey, and Point Adams Light in Washington State (burned down by the Lighthouse Service in 1912), all in essentially the same style. In 1941, the light was extinguished due to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. There was fear that the light would serve as a beacon for enemy planes and ships.[2] The original fourth order Fresnel lens was removed in 1942. The lighthouse was saved from demolition in 1972 and added to the National Register of Historic Places.[3] The light fell into disuse and disrepair and the lantern room and gallery were removed. The site was refurbished in 1974 including a new lantern room and gallery were built by local preservationists in 1974.[2] A wood replica lantern was also installed.

station 2. it was hot, which is part of the reason i look so hideous.

The top of the cable car track.

At the time I was only thinking about the photos I could take. For $2 it was probably worth using those binoculars for a look.

This event occured on July 2. It was a an evening run sponsored by The City of San Marcos and the San Marcos Runners Club. It was a flat, even course, but the high temperature for the day had been 102 degrees. Over two hundred runners turned out for the event.

I was inspired by photos I saw when someone placed a lighted Christmas Tree at their trail camera as well as photos where squirrels and birds appear to be taking photos of each other. So I decided to see how the backyard birds and animals would react to a visit from santa Claus. I swiped a couple of my wifes coffee table Christmas Decorations and headed out to the backyard.

I did two photo sessions over two days and the first day was just the Santa decoration. On day 2 it was also snowing so I added a Frosty the Snowman along with Santa. The reactions were both predictable and surprising. Some birds just kept their distance while others like a pair of Carolina Wrens were very curious and gave some great photo opportunities. On the second day one of the local chipmunks showed up and was really freaked out by the Elf and snowman on top of his woodpile but as uasual free sunflower seeds and hunger won out over fear of elves on your wood pile, ha ha. This was fun a new Christmas tradition for me I think. here are a few of the best from both days I hope you enjoy them.

Early Universe: The Most Distant Galaxy “JADES-GS-z14-0" Challenges Galaxy Formation Models

Spectral analysis of luminous galaxy JADES-GS-z14-0 based on observations made in January 2024 revealed a redshift of 14.32 which makes it the most distant galaxy known (previous most-distant galaxy known was JADES-GS-z13-0 at the redshift of z = 13.2). It was formed in the early universe about 290 million years after the Big Bang............

Jaguars 25, Bills 20: Jacksonville Gets a Statement Win in London

For the second consecutive week, the NFL’s Sunday slate started with an International Series game, and the Jacksonville Jaguars got Week 5 rolling with an impressive 25-20 win against the Buffalo Bills.

After beating the Atlanta Falcons during Week 4 in Wembley Stadium in London, the Jaguars (3-2) remained overseas to prepare for a much bigger test in the Buffalo Bills (3-2). It was the Bills' first loss since falling in their season-opener against the New York Jets.

Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. had two touchdown runs and 136 yards rushing, Calvin Ridley had 122 yards receiving, and Trevor Lawrence was 25 of 37 for 315 yards and a touchdown to receiver Zay Jones.

Mount Auburn Cemetery in Massachusetts, was founded in 1831 as "America's first garden cemetery" or "rural cemetery". With classical monuments set in a rolling landscaped terrain,[2] it marked a distinct break with Colonial-era burying grounds and church-affiliated graveyards.

Avebury is a Neolithic henge monument containing three stone circles which is located around the village of Avebury in Wiltshire, south west England. Unique amongst megalithic monuments, Avebury contains the largest stone circle in Europe, and is one of the best known prehistoric sites in Britain. It is currently used as both a tourist attraction and a place of religious importance to contemporary Pagans.

Constructed around 2600 BCE,[1] during the Neolithic, or 'New Stone Age', the monument comprises a large henge, surrounded by a bank and a ditch. Inside this henge is a large outer stone circle, with two separate smaller stone circles situated inside the centre of the monument. Its original purpose is not known, although archaeologists believe that it was most likely used for some form of ritual or ceremonial usage. The Avebury monument was a part of a larger prehistoric landscape containing several older monuments nearby, including West Kennet Long Barrow and Silbury Hill.

By the Iron Age, the site had been effectively abandoned, with some evidence of human activity on the site during the Roman occupation. During the Early Mediaeval, a village first began to be built around the monument, which eventually extended into it. In the Late Mediaeval and Early Modern periods, locals destroyed many of the standing stones around the henge, both for religious and practical reasons. The antiquarians John Aubrey and William Stukeley however took an interest in Avebury during the 17th century, and recorded much of the site before its destruction. Archaeological investigation followed in the 20th century, led primarily by Alexander Keiller, who oversaw a project of reconstructing much of the monument.

Avebury is owned and run by the National Trust, a charitable organisation who keep it open to the public.[2] It has been designated a Scheduled Ancient Monument,[3] as well as a World Heritage Site, in the latter capacity being seen as a part of the wider prehistoric landscape of Wiltshire known as Stonehenge, Avebury and Associated Sites.[4]

It's 20 years this month since I moved to Ohio to go to graduate school, earn my PhD and dazzle the world with my literary-critical prowess.

It's 14-1/2 years since I quit graduate school, having dazzled no one, and yet the books still remain.

(Somehow i took 42gig of pics while sitting at Abingdon, so i have a feeling its going to take a while to edit/post them all lol)
