Panorama of 2 horizontal images stitched together. A location frequently visited and on rare occasions when the sun with mist combined to give that ethereal feel most times here I would do it as a long exposure of around 6 - 30 seconds to flatten out the water and a bit of luck on exposure timing to get the nice sharp and soft focus feel as you look into the image from left to right.

All year round this is one of my favorite locations to take pictures.

Mittwoch maritim 2 – Hier ein zweites Bild vom Einlaufen des Schwerlasters (Heavy Load Carrier) „GPO SAPPHIRE“ am 09.05.2023 in Rostock.
Das Schiff ist 229 Meter lang und 48 Meter breit, wurde 2019 in Dienst gestellt und fährt unter der Flagge der Marshall Islands. Das Schiff kommt unbeladen und soll Rohre aufnehmen und in die USA transportieren.
Ich hatte bereits in der ersten Vorstellung auf die beiden Türme im Heckbereich des Schiffes verwiesen. Diese Türme haben eine besondere Bedeutung für das Austrimmen des Schiffes im unbeladenen Zustand und sie lassen sich in ihrer Position verschieben.
Beide Türme lassen sich mit Wasser füllen und im Zusammenspiel mit großen Tanks im Bug des Schiffes lässt sich das Schiff so beschweren, dass sich der Mittelteil unter der Wasserlinie befindet und die Ladung Einschwimmen kann. Für die Beladung mit großen Rohren hat man vorab diese beiden Türme von Bord geholt. Nun ist die GPO „SAPPHIRE“ seit Montag, den 15.05.2023 bereits beladen mit Rohren auf den Weg – erster Zielhafen ist Aviles in Spanien.
Aktuell (17.05.2023 06.00) befindet sich das Schiff ankernd nördlich Skagen (Dänemark).

Continuing with my challenge to take 3 photos of something I love. Today's photo has three special elements: Bubbles which my son Micah adores. He had lots of fun popping them this afternoon while I was trying to shoot them. Needless to say, this shot took a while ;). I wish I could have made them stay a bit longer, hence the song. Reflections and colour, as evidenced repeatedly by my fascination with beachscapes and the sunset in Adelaide. I think they are the most glorious colours and reflections that nature can offer. It is amazing how much can be reflected in the surface of a single bubble. Eyes, the darkness in the middle of the bubble reminded me of a pupil. I thought that looked kind of cool :) I also think you can tell a lot about a person by their eyes. It is the first thing I notice and the what I most remember.
