I posted this photo on a group site on Facebook but nobody could identify this insect as native or introduced. It looks like a katydid and it was found at HVNP last week on a ginger leaf. What's interesting is that it's got a pair of wings that is disproportionately small and doesn't seem functional.
My sinuses went nuts today! This happens a couple times a year -- usually May and October -- and when it does, my Neti Pot becomes my best friend. It's dragging me through... I'd be in misery otherwise!

An offshoot of the famous engineering firm founded by Henry Maudslay. The firm began production in 1903 with a 14hp three cylinder car, with an OHC, and a fully pressured lubricated crankshaft.
The All-Round car had bodywork with a convertible omnibus rear section which lifted off to convert the car to a Tonneau, and the first ever production shooting brake with solid tyres and a capacity to carry eleven passengers (or 300 head of game)
Early Maudslay's had coal scuttle bonnets, but in 1905 a conventional radiator and bonnet were in use.
Later that year came the signature rounded rediators, which recalled the compays tradition of marine boilers.
Maudslay'a most famous model was the 'Sweet Seventeen' the last production Maudslay introduced in 1909.
After WW1 Maudslay concentrated on commercial vehicles, apart from an advanced 2 litre twin OHC 15/80hp six with four wheel brakes of which three examples were shown at the 1923 Olympia Motor Show. Projected at costing £ 825 a decision was made to shelve the project after only prototypes had been built.

Day 198/365
The day the moon stood close.
It's not always a White Ball at a distance. It just seems like. Still worth it.
No this is not the Super Moon. But I clicked it on the same day with a 500mm lens.
