Taken from the fire escape of Paddington parcel's depot we see Class 50 50035 arriving with the 06:30 from Penzance. 1977 was a good year for 50's at Paddington as there were on the services to Birmingham Bristol and the West of England. 50's Photographed that day were 50004/11/18/19/27/28/32/34/35/43/45. 30/04/1977.

BR organised a “Rail Festival” at Haymarket depot in September 1977 with various locos and items of rolling stock on display, including 08881, 25237, 26007, 27202, 40061, 40080, 47271, 55022 & 87001. A refurbished DMU and a shortened HST set 254002 were also on show, with various freight wagons too.
This was possibly the first visit of a class 87 to Edinburgh, although they would later become commonplace once wires went up everywhere.
