NGC 1977 is an emission/reflection nebula in the Orion constellation, around 1500 light years from earth.
An interesting little fact about this specific region is the presence of several "proplyds" (protoplanetary disks). That's astronomy speak for indicating that there's newly formed stars within the nebula that have large disks of material in orbit around them. So we're essentially looking at the very early stages of a new planetary system being formed (said material will over time shape/create new planets around said stars).

A 1977 Ford Granada 3.0L, I have a soft spot for cars from the 1970s, mainly because it was the time when I was a youngster and grew up with Granadas, Capris, Vivas, Dolomites etc etc travelling up and down the UK. We had a blue Ford Consul, the one that was shaped much like the Granada here in the photo.
This portrait of mine was done in the year 1977 on the occasion of my 23rd Birthday by my dear and close friend Gandhi Ayya, a wonderful illustrator and an interesting human being.
Warm summer wine,
Cool breeze on the open veranda,
Dried fruits, and olives,
Morris Albert's "Feelings" sung by a UK group,
Dancing with a companion in the summer moonlight.
Life has been wonderful.
I have been meaning to post these old school pictures for ages, and with the advent of the Yearbook Yourself group, I figured the time was right.
This one is from 1977 and shows the cast of our school play 'Cinderella'. I was the Queen and wrote my own lines - one of my proudest moments! The village school was tiny - less than 90 pupils - so you can see what percentage were involved in this production.
