I met them in Bujumbura at the Burundi Palace and invited them to stay with me a couple of days. That was my Yamaha 175cc motorcycle.
The Automoto motorcycle brand was one of the important early French motorcycle manufacturers, although it is much less known today than names like Peugeot Motocycles, Terrot or Motobécane. It was founded in Saint-Étienne, France, in 1899 and originally produced bicycles, tricycles, and motor vehicles before becoming known mainly for motorcycles. The company later became part of the Peugeot group in 1930 and disappeared as an independent motorcycle maker in 1962. Automoto's reputation was based on high-quality engineering, good finishes, and relatively advanced technology.
