While our wives were off chatting, Paul (D200-PAUL) and I scanned the essentially birdless lagoon at Ding Darling NWR, Florida.

"I need a Cattle Egret" I said. Paul turned around and said, "Well, there's one right next to us".

So I got #175 Life Bird Photograph. Thanks Paul : )

The Cattle Egret in the picture has just a hint of buffy color on top of his head. During breeding season, his black legs will become reddish and the buffy wash will cover his breast, back and crown.

Laurie, you won't believe this is the same umbrella you bought for me. Looks quite different, doesn't it!

Hi guys 😁. I wonder if you think colour is spreading or fading. Wasn't easy carring this big heavy easel to this part of the roof, i broke several roof tiles 😅 (hope my mom doesn't read this). -

As you know I'm at home and it has been awesome. Some things changed around here, for example, my house is now orange 😨 and i don't understand why my mom does this kinds of things. But I'm getting used to the color, it's the only thing I can do. Hope you like this, have an awesome night, day or afternoon.

---------------------------------

Hola chicos.

Back in 2015 I rediscovered cycling, having done none of it since my childhood. At that time I was a bit of a mess. In my mid-30s, anxious, overweight and desperately unhappy. Cycling gave me a new lease on life; helped me get fit and feeling younger than I thought possible. I met some new friends, toured much of south Wales and south-west England on two wheels.

It was great, but thanks to my temperamental brain I found myself unable to keep going. I fell into another rut, gained a few pounds and ended up almost where I was before. However, what I didn't have back then was experience. I know what to do now...and that's what I've been doing these past few weeks.

Common Mallow from a small patch I pass and enjoy every day on our dog walk. Today someone had strimmed all wild flowers down. I saved a few and put them in water.

Day 175 - Senna

Ayrton Senna's 1988 mclaren mp4/4

Ayrton Senna’s 1988 McLaren Honda MP4/4 V6 Turbo

Senna’s first year at McLaren and his first world championship title. This car was the last of the monster turbo breed of F1 car. Alan Prost would be Senna’s team mate in 1988 and between them they won all but one race of the year such was the strength of the car and talent of the drivers. The battle was epic and started a trend for Senna v Prost that would last to 1993.

The car itself looks so basic today and there was little in the way of driver safety in the upper neck/head area, to be standing in front of this example of F1 history is really something.

At the top of the image is the hook for the fence wire, thorough which Jim took his famous photo of a train some years ago. I recreated the photo, which wasn't quite as easy as you might think, needed just the right camera settings, but the strong light on the front of a 175 blew out the area of interest. Without time to wait for a 153 or similar to arrive with a weaker front light, or a going away unit, I took a wider angle view of the fence post.
