Technology is getting smaller and smaller!

One of the stars of the 2018 Sydney Classic and Wooden Boat Festival was undoubtedly SY Ena.

Built in 1900 for Thomas Dobbs, the then Commodore of the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, she graced the harbour until taken over by the RAN in 1917 and sent to northern Australian waters until 1920. After the war it again became privately owned until it sank in 1980.

After being refloated and restored to near original, it sailed to Western Australia for the period of the Americas Cup races in 1987, and eventually returned to Sydney where it is now in the trust of the ANMM's National Maritime Collection.

SY Ena is 34.5m overall, and weighs 65t, with propulsion being a compound steam engine.

There is a lot of Common Mallow around this year.

I was taking a picture to put on our resume page for my web publishing class. I don't like my ID picture since it's one I took quickly one day after I had lost my first ID and my hair is a total mess. So I put up my green bedsheets to have a different colored background instead of the white wall. This isn't the picture I used. Just another fun one I took while taking pictures.

Today. This is the lobby of Hotel Burnham in the Reliance Building in Chicago by request. The hotel itself opened in 2006, but it was designed to keep in tact the original architecture and interior decoration of the Reliance Building. This was the first skyscraper to have large plate glass windows make up the majority of its surface area.

The outer ply sheeting has been fitted to Fingall. Leaning against the coach are the kitchen's inner ply ceiling panels and the aluminium sgeeting panels of the outer skin.

Here's a couple of caboose in the train yard near my house. I've taken a few pictures of the inside on one occasion, but now I see someone has burnt them out, so I'd imagine the inside is a little messy now. Either way, I rushed out when I saw the Sun was dropping below the dark cloud line before going behind the horizon, I always love when it does that, the light is delicious. This is SOOC, except for the crop.

And was I glad to be heading there! Pretty full-on day, not achieving very much and constantly deliberating on who we should appoint for the role we interviewed for yesterday. Finally made a decision - in the midst of some other stuff that was going on - right at the end of the day. Unfortunately I couldn't get hold of our contact at the recruitment agency to let them know, so the poor candidates will have another night of anticipation....

Headed home a little late after all that. Tim cooked us a tasty curry for dinner, and then I spent most of the evening packing to go down to Glastonbury tomorrow evening.
