FABRICATING EXPLOSIVE COMPONENTS-SUCH AS DETONATORS, EXPLOSIVE TIMERS, AND EXPLOSIVE PELLETS-FOR NUCLEAR WEAPONS IS THE MAJOR PRODUCTION ACTIVITY. THE MOUND FACILITY IS OPERATED FOR DOE BY MONSANTO RESEARCH CORPORATION. BY USING A CALORIMETER, TECHNICIANS CAN MEASURE HEAT EMITTED BY AN ELEMENT AND DETERMINE THE QUANTITY OF MATERIAL PRESENT.

The 18th of September
Stayed at Glens last night and we slept into very late morning and then we were starving so I drove into the beaches hotel because I'd never eaten there before and I wanted to! Then after lunch we walked under the road and down along the beach until we eventually hit Glenrock Lagoon! We sat there for a bit and then we walked back and I dropped Glen off because he had to work!
There is some very interesting rock strata along that walk! And I totally forgot to bring my camera with me too!!
