Onder het motto 'Op Weg met de Blauwe 55'ers' organiseerde de TSP op 4 juni 2011 de afscheidsrit van de blauwe reeks 55 van de NMBS. Ingezet werden de loc's 5515 en 5540 van TUC-Rail. De rit begon te Brussel Noord en voerde via Aarschot, Tongeren, Visé, Angleur, Verviers en Welkenraedt naar Raeren. Van daar weer terug richting Angleur en Kimkempois. Vanuit Kimkempois via spoorlijn 36A naar Y Voroux (Ans) en vervolgens via Waremme en Leuven terug naar Brussel Noord. Trein Z 18049 uit Brussel Noord is aangekomen op Verviers Central. Loc 5515 is inmiddels afgekoppeld en rangeert naar het andere einde van de trein om daar voorgeplaatst te worden. Inmiddels is loc 5540 treinloc geworden.
Lights And The Clock tower.....
Spent an afternoon walking through the downtown core of Brampton stopping to occasionally take shots of the architecture. Before we knew it the sun had gone down and the darkness of night slowly crept in, with the dark came a damp cold chill that filled the atmosphere.
This was a shot I fired off while capturing the garden square and the lights on the trees.

Unexpected Downpour..
We were coming back from taking photos in Toronto, on what was an otherwise clear and sunny day. When suddenly the sky turned dark and the sun disappeared behind thick heavy clouds.
Sometimes the weather changes without warning and today was one of those days. We soon found ourselves in an all out downpour, the windshield wipers beat a rhymical thump, thump across the windshield, traffic slowed to a crawl... when to my right just on the horizon the sun popped out from a gap in the clouds sending bright sunlight in all directions; everything glistened and sparkled. I quickly pulled my camera out of the bag and fired off a few quick shots. no time to focus or compose but I did get this shot.

The classic view at Brimeslade with 7A09 has been on my bucket list for quite a while. To get it with former DB 59/2 red livery was just a bonus.
This is October and in the dimming light a lone cowboy is rounding up the cattle before the first snow falls. The cows are visible in the lower left of the photo.

Al heel lang wist ik van het bestaan van de Alte Leuchtturm Balje, maar gevonden had ik hem nog niet. Het is dankzij deze foto van Frits Van Eck dat ik de oude vuurtoren heb weten te vinden. Nochtans ken ik deze streek al veel langer en waarschijnlijk ook veel beter dan Frits. Komt daarbij dat ik de nodige kaarten heb, ja zelf de zeekaart van de Elbe heb ik ter beschikking. Maar ere wie ere toekomt, bedankt Frits voor de hint die ik via je foto kreeg. En zo vond ik dan uiteindelijk deze mooie oude vuurtoren.
Om hem te bereiken moet je op de juiste plaats de winterdijk van de Elbe oprijden en dan 3,5km noordwaarts naar het water toe tot aan de zomerdijk. Verder mag je hier niet rijden. Om de vuurtoren te bezoeken moet je nog ± 500m te voet verder. Eerst de zomerdijk over en dan nog 355m.
Let wel op: enkel tijdens de openingsuren van de vuurtoren mag het terrein betreden worden, en daarbij ben je verzocht het pad te volgen. Enkel op de openingsdagen in juli en augustus is de toren te bezoeken. Voor de openingsuren zie deze foto. Buiten deze dagen is het strikt verboden het terrein te betreden. Het gehele Deichvorland is vogelbeschermingsgebied.
De windgeneratoren in de achtergrond staan op 6km afstand, op de rechteroever van de Elbe in Schleswig-Holstein. De Alter Leuchtturm staat op 1,5km van hier.

Die 160 km/h schnelle SNCF-Triebwagenreihe x 72500 wurde für den schnellen Regionalverkehr auf nicht elektrifizierten Strecken abseits der großen Magistralen beschafft. So kommen die Züge auch auf der Relation Lyon - Gap (- Briancon) in den französichen Alpen zum Einsatz. Die Züge x 72571 und 72534 haben als R 17354 Veynes bereits verlassen und sind bei la Bégué Richtung Rhônetal unterwegs.

Generally I use the radio channels on the TV. This radio is tuned in to the local radio station where Stew has his weekly programme Listen to Stew
Located on Belgrave Gate, Leicester. The Savoy Cinema opened on 4th June 1937. It was designed by ABC in-house architect William R. Glen in an Art Deco style and had a seating capacity of 2,424.
It closed on 16th January 1997 and has remained empty and unused until 2006, when it was demolished.

FS Trenitalia train 17354 from Trieste has just arrived at Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia and will, in a moment, drop its rear pantograph and raise its forward one in preparation for its next departure. Power is a Bombardier E464 in FS XMPR scheme. A second, like-painted, E464 is on the other end of the train.
