A Northern Class 142 trundles along the 30mph bi-directional loop heading towards the camera for its Earlestown Platform 3 stop, thereafter south to Warrington Bank Quay.
Lots of metalwork on show: masts, portals, underbridge danglies, lots attached to masts and road-rail vehicles awaiting the next night's activity.

All the Dead Dears
In the Archæological Museum in Cambridge is a stone
coffin of the fourth century A.D. containing the skeletons
of a woman, a mouse and a shrew. The ankle-bone of the
woman has been slightly gnawed.
Rigged poker -stiff on her back
With a granite grin
This antique museum-cased lady
Lies, companioned by the gimcrack
Relics of a mouse and a shrew
That battened for a day on her ankle-bone.
These three, unmasked now, bear
Dry witness
To the gross eating game
We'd wink at if we didn't hear
Stars grinding, crumb by crumb,
Our own grist down to its bony face.
How they grip us through think and thick,
These barnacle dead!
This lady here's no kin
Of mine, yet kin she is: she'll suck
Blood and whistle my narrow clean
To prove it. As I think now of her hand,
From the mercury-backed glass
Mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother
Reach hag hands to haul me in,
And an image looms under the fishpond surface
Where the daft father went down
With orange duck-feet winnowing this hair ---
All the long gone darlings: They
Get back, though, soon,
Soon: be it by wakes, weddings,
Childbirths or a family barbecue:
Any touch, taste, tang's
Fit for those outlaws to ride home on,
And to sanctuary: usurping the armchair

This train ran via Limerick Junction and Waterford and the journey of just over 100 miles took over 3 hours!
142 and its stock would now retire to the carriage sidings before working the 07.05 back to Waterford in the morning.
This journey is no longer possible, as the line between here and Waterford is closed.
Class 150 'Sprinter' diesel multiple units 150 142 nearest the camera and 150 126 are pictured at Preston on June 20th, 2021, having been working 2S62 19L21 Colne - Blackpool South which had been terminated here due to late running of this service.
Seen on the approach to Exmouth station in an unidentified Class 142 Pacer still wearing First North Western livery. This was taken from near the Rugby club using a Tamron AF70-300mm Zoom lens
this is my first attempt at focus stacking, a technique i am going to have to get used to, seeing as how my macro lens ( MPE-65) is almost a microscope and the field of focus is razor thin. this is 12 images stacked together,and unfortunately, CS5 couldnt do it automated,because there was enough wind to change the composition of several of the shots. so i just put them all together and did it the ol' fashioned way. this is a berry off the Holly tree in the backyard,and is super tiny.

Northern class 142 'Pacer' diesel multiple unit 142 051 is pictured on the approach to Preston on March 28th, 2018 with the terminating 15:21 (2S11) service from Colne.
Despite its destination indicator still showing 'Lancaster' Northern Class 142 'Pacer' diesel multiple unit 142 026 was heading north on the West Coast Main Line though Hest Bank when photographed on May 17th, 2019.
This is my brother and I in front of our father's 1972 Volvo 142. The photo was taken in the spring of 1973 in Hope Valley, RI.
