British Rail Class 142 'Pacer' 2 car Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU), 142096 as operated by Northern Rail at Darlington Station in County Durham (UK).
Class 142's have been in service since 1985/7 and are due for withdrawal by 2020.
The Class 142 Pacer units with their atrocious noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) and general ambience levels do nothing to enhance the image of the railways in this area in my opinion.
Darlington Station is a Grade II* listed building which opened on July 1st 1887 but of course there has been a railway in the town since 1825.

So the daytime bright sunshine has been missing behind gloomy clouds in what seems like forever now! Tonight the garden was so bright, a completely clear sky, the nearly full moon Shining brightly away. Thought I'd take in some moon rays and snap this for ODC Bright
