Type 4 'Peak' Class 46 number 141 arrives at Bristol Temple Meads working a cross-country service between Sheffield & Paignton. This loco became 46004 in the 1973 TOPS re-numbering scheme.
I had to go to another building at work and it's one of the newer ones, very striking with lots of cool artwork and a big open atrium in the center.
141 pauses in Kiltimagh on its way south with the 10.30 Sligo - Limerick goods. The line from Collooney Junction to Claremorris closed after the last train on 31 October 1975 - an event I sadly missed due to an unsympathetic "God bothering" boss in miserable Ulster Bank.

just look at the width of this machine, i believe it was 11 foot 9 inches wide it must have needed quite some skill back in the sixties with roads as they were.lets not forget this is a left hand drive machine, amazing.
The 80's. Everyone loves the 80's. Except maybe those who grew up in them...
Here's my tribute to the 80's for FGR and I love the 80s. The picture is one of me in the 80's - probably 1989 - I'm in grade 8 here. And a picture of me now - doing my best to look a bit 80's - but I really don't have the same kind of clothes and makeup as I did back then...
EDIT - I totally messed up on my math last night. I hate counting years based on school years. I think that this must have been taken in late 1990. So not quite the 80s - but the style is still very 80s!

Morning all! How are we?!
Weekend is here!
Had a nice day yesterday! Went back for my two week contact lens check up, well, week and a half.. and all is well! They had another good look at my eyes again, nothing to report.
I then went into town to get a few things, I got some lunch/milk and then some felt tips as well as a mattress topper which made things a lot comfier last night, and only £5!
I came home and had some lunch and checked the usual sites, saw that it is meant to be raining today up here, its drizzling right now and decided that i'd go to Salford Quays in the afternoon.
I got there at about 2 ish and just had a wander as i'd never been there before, I ended up at the Lowry theatre by the BBC studios and found a very cool installation i'd seen. I got some shots, but they'll be tomorrows shot I think as the computer wasn't in a very good mood last night so i'll edit them today. But I definitely want to upload them..
So this shot was from in town, I noticed this fella sitting and whilst he looked away snapped off a couple of shots, very sneaky. I popped a bit of change in his tub otherwise I think i'd have felt guilty. Just a simple bw conversion, just really like his face, very interesting!
HCS and happy weekend all!

"Knallfrosch" in S-Bahn Lackierung. DiaScan von 1990
The onliest BR 141 of the DB in these colours. Here you can see the other side of it.
In Germany we called this locomotive type "Knallfrosch" because it make a sound like a bang, before it starts.
Now,(2009) this locomotive belongs to a museum and is recoloured in the old green colour.
It is now impossible to see this one in these colours.
Picture is a Diascan from 1990.
