Built in 1936. this post office is a contributing property to the Gowanda Village Historic District, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
Gowanda, New York is a small village located in northwestern Cattaraugus County near the Seneca Nation.

The redevelopment schematics show the top level of the parking garage being retained and not part of the apartment complex. I'm unsure if Target will wall this off when they eventually remodel, or if they'll reopen it. The top level entrances are far more pleasing to the eye than the two on the bottom level in the garage.
