In 1951, a second group of children from the Home emigrated to Australia, which was a popular and highly regarded scheme at the time.
Children in the homes formed strong bonds with the Sisters who cared for them, often keeping in touch when they had families of their own.
Any chance I get to photograph this crazy girl's crazy hair, I take it. It's so beautiful and random.

More than 200 Athletes from 11 Canadian Forces' CISM Teams will compete at the 2011 CISM Military World Games, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The 2011 Games will be held from 15-24 July, and will include competitions for male and female military athletes from around the world.This yearâs Military World Games are also called the âPeace Games,â a name which celebrates the role of the Games in promoting the CISM motto of âFriendship through Sportâ. The 2011 Military World Games will build peace and friendship by bringing together over 6 000 military athletes, coaches and support staff from over 100 countries. They are the 5th CISM Military World Games to be held, and are expected to be one of the largest and most successful yet.
