On a rather damp Saturday 23 November 2019, London bus route 140 Harrow-Heathrow celebrated its history and marked its imminent shortening by supplementing 15 heritage buses into the existing service. This meant Volvo / Wright Gemini buses (and a solitary Plaxton President) were joined by 8 RTs, 5 Routemasters and 2 Metrobuses for the day.
My visit included photo stops at Hayes, Heathrow and Harrow Weald taking advantage of free rides aboard RM1397, M1069 and RT2177.

Took this at the airport. Curious thing... all these little locks on the fence... still wondering what they are there for. More tomorrow.

Had the kids to myself today, as my wife was off at a class for much of the day. While we were out and about, we spotted signs for an “Airport Fun Day” at the New Bedford Regional Airport, and we decided to pop in for a bit to see what was going on.
Quite a lot, actually: RC aircraft, flight simulators, a car show, food, games, dance demonstrations(?), pony(!?) and airplane rides, and both antique planes and some military planes on display, including this C-130U Hercules attached to the Rhode Island Air National Guard. The kids had a good time, and we bumped into a few friends who apparently had the same idea.
Really strong sunlight made for pronounced shadows, and while I got a few shots, nothing was really great, although I do like this one.

"This is why the philosophers warn us not to be satisfied with mere learning, but to add practice and then training. For as time passes we forget what we learned and end up doing the opposite, and hold opinions the opposite of what we should." - Epictetus
