Hairy legs? Twin trunks of a New Zealand Cabbage tree/ti kouka (Cordyline australis).
The 13 ran from Beastmarket Hill in Nottingham to Beeston Dennis Avenue via Mount Street and Marian Way down Collin Street, where there was a stop outside BHS. The bus then ran the full length of Castle Boulevard and Abbey Bridge, passing the back of QMC straight through to Dunkirk. From Beeston Road, the service then ran through the University of Nottingham campus via the South Entrance, Keighton Hill and Cut Through Lane to the West Entrance, continuing down University Boulevard and Queen's Road past Mecca Bingo. Buses then turned right into Station Road, calling in at Beeston Bus Station, carrying on to Brook Road the same way as Locallink 11 via Wollaton Road.
The 13 ran every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday daytimes.

For the 13 Things Pool ; ) ...great idea Leepak!
1) I decided to snap my first shot before leaving out for yoga. which I love. I also participate in step aerobics, resistance training and cardio kick-boxing to keep fitness fun. Many of my friends are surprised to find out there is no scale in my home. I prefer to see how my clothes fit to determine if I'm okay with my weight.
2) When I was a little girl, my Grandma Dot told me the dimple on my left cheek was a kiss from an angel. She also called me "ladybug" because she said I am lucky and "Ma Lis" because I tried to boss my brother and cousins around.
3) I love to smile and laugh. I like to be around people who have a great sense of humor. I work with a great group of teachers and we have to make light of some of the things that happen at work. We are a happy bunch!
4) I am the mother of two sons, ages 22 and 17 and a daughter who is 11. We've been sharing a lot more meals together lately. My boyfriend and I love to cook together when we have the opportunity. I believe they enjoy the meals. My kids are each quite different. I love and appreciate them all.
5) I have the best boyfriend in the world! He nurtures me and is my spiritual/ prayer partner, yoga teacher, massage therapist, cook, confidant, giver and receiver of great affection... and so much more!
6) I have been an elementary school teacher for over 12 years, I currently teach 5th grade. I prefer to teach older kids because they have a longer attention span. I've also taught kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 4th grades. When my students call me "Ma" or "Auntie", I know they understand how much I care about their well-being.
7) I am a published poet, my book can be (partially) viewed at Google Books, type in Lisa A. Lipscomb/ Somewhere in the Middle of Love.
8) I love good food, great company a bottle of wine and a fabulous view. Love to travel... Chicago is a lot of fun! I enjoy Canada (Niagara Falls, too). I'd like to go on another cruise, visit Hawaii, Brazil and to see the Pyramids in Egypt.
9) I feel more free than I ever have, now that I've let my hair lock. I love my hair! Speaking of freedom... I love to walk around barefoot, especially in summer. There is nothing like the feel of fresh blades of grass between my toes. I don't mind the feel of cool cement, either. In case you were wondering, my feet are soft and smooth- no signs of wear or tear ; )
10) I meditate to stay centered.
11) I truly believe in miracles.
12) I just watched, "The Secret". I wanted a reminder that my thoughts and words create my world.
13) In the end love always wins... believe it~

Jan 13 13/366. Not a great day. Kids fought more than they should. I got mad more than I should. Tears, pokes, and prods...all unnecessary. I guess they are struggling to find their place.
Week:13
Theme: Spring
Not many pictures for me to choose from this week, but luckily had these planted in the garden, nothing for me symbolises the start of summer like daffodils springing out of the ground.

Stranger #13 - she's the first stranger whom I photographed in my home town.
I ran out of portraits of super friendly people from southern California (I really hope I'll have an opportunity to go back there again!) and had to go out in order to continue the project. I was prepared for rejection because this is something that should be expected within this grumpy society and my first attempts to start this project in Poland long time ago weren't very successful :) Anyway, I pushed myself, went out and was wandering aimlessly for some time. At some point I realised it was getting dark very quickly so it was time to act in order to achieve something.
So I approached her and ask for a photo. It turned out she's very friendly and agreed almost immediately when I explained what I'm doing. She was actually quite interested in the project. I got to say that this encounter has left me in pretty optimistic mood and I'm really positive that the project will thrive in the upcoming days ;)
This picture is #13 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
