Arriving in Defiance, the last Maumee & Western train from Napoleon comes off the Maumee River bridge and approaches the bridge over old State Route 424.

I Made this photo of fruit tree blossoms in late February 2016 during a visit to the Bourn-Roth Estate, better known as FILOLI, located in Woodside California 25 miles south of San Francisco. During our visit earlier in the month there were only buds about to open - but no flowers yet. This day, spring was in the air and opening for our eyes.

GN loco-hauled suburban train leaving Kings Cross - York Road - station in 1976, bound for Farringdon and Moorgate.

Loco-hauled suburban services ended in November 1976, and the new GN suburban electric services then went via Drayton Park to Moorgate, using the old Northern Line LT tunnels, which were originally constructed by the Great Northern and City Railway to mainline dimensions.

A view of Kings Cross loco shed, through the remains of the old signal box being demolished, in 1976.

On shed are the usual Class 47s and a Deltic (Class 55).

Today, almost all of this has vanished, but the old apartment block in the background (with two chimneys) is still there...
