Volvo B8L / Enviro 400 XLB, number 1111 (SJ19 0Y0) works on a 37 to Silverknowes and I rather like that modern building on the corner of Castle Street - as modern architecture goes that's quite good and it replaces the fire damaged building demolished a few years ago.
Using the big buses during coronavirus means there is plenty of space for people to be separated and with usually only a handful on each at any one time (if that) there's plenty of room.
To see all seventy seven of Lothian's XLB's (and the ADL production line) click here for each in numerical order.

A group of Spotters are next to the loco but I'm not sure what the lad on the right is doing!!

I am so happy to see Pronghorn back in the Frenchman River Valley, in and near Grasslands National Park. I photographed this small group in a wheat field just outside the park boundary.

By mid-morning the wind was starting to blow, and I had to overcome the tiny negative voice whispering, "Psst! There's nothing to photograph here! You can't do this! Give it up! Go home!" It's true that the wind was causing all the grasses and low plants to tremble; luckily at this location - on the lower slopes of Eagle Butte - many large and small boulders lay strewn about. I love to find patches of bare rock entirely surrounded by lichen: the lichen inscribes a rock shape, and this negative space then becomes my subject. Each shape is different - this one has a small "island" of lichen within its boundaries. And they aren't so easy to find. I checked 30 or 40 rocks and found only this one shot. You can view some others in my set, "Surrounded".

Southern Vectis 1111 (VDL 744) at Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. This Scania Omnicity was formerly registered HW58 ASX. After being damaged by an engine fire, it was converted to an open-top bus, and was named 'Phoenix'
This bus was new to Lothian Buses as 1111 in 2019.
Seen here at Greendykes.
During the lockdown, Lothian Buses were running limited services with some not running. Some route extend inc the 7 to Western Harbour and 16 to Torphin and Bonally to allow the 10 not to run and reduce the number of drivers.
All routes were run out of central garage, Livingston and Musselburgh depots only, using madder buses which have screens to protect the driver from attacks, which were at the time used to protect the drivers and public from contamination. Buses were drafted in from all depots and used for 2 weeks before deep cleaning, meaning unusual workings were seen.
