- The waters around the port in Calais was quite busy, there were ferries coming in and going out. Seen from an old France road trip over #10YearsAgo.
The "Triple Cross" of Christ the King, symbolising the three distinct aspects of Christ's life – Desolation, Consolation and Triumph – has been standing 18 feet high as a major landmark for the town, since it was formally unveiled in 1978.
The sculpture is 18 feet high and weighs approximately 3.5 tons. The three scenes depicted on the tall bronze pillar symbolise three distinct aspects of Christ’s life - desolation, consolation and triumph. A shrouded weary Jesus, crucified on the cross, the heavy canopy symbolising the day of gloom and despair; the resurrected Christ with arms outstretched; and Christ pulling clear of his bondage and emerging to greet his followers. These scenes follow clockwise around the mast of the pillar, the arms of the cross dividing them as we move down the piece. The sculpture narrows to angular sheets of bronze until we reach the large bronze plaques, which form the lower section.
Found a few shots I took in 1989. Who knew that the skyline of New York and the lives of so many people would have been affected as much. I cannot believe that it was 10years ago that the towers came down. It seems just like yesterday.

- From a road trip along the coast of Northern French in Brittany over #10YearsAgo. The late sunset was reflected in the shallow waters of the tidal beach.
This was from my graduation from community college (my AA degree)...held at a friends farm. In the front is Andrea, Lauren & Me...in the background is my friend Terry (on right), her mom in the center and (behind Andrea) her mother-in-law, Marianne who was visiting from Germany.
Later in this party, after many, many beers....a friends sister was being a complete bitch and dumped a beer on me...well, paybacks are HELL...i got to the top of the barn and dumped an entire cooler on her head!...don't mess with the little woman!

- From the inside of the Church of St Joan of Arc in Rouen. The large stained glass windows in this quite contemporary church was from the ruins of an older church destroyed in WW2 and they tell many biblical stories. Seen from an old France trip over #10YearsAgo.
- From the ferry leaving Calais on a cloudy day after our road trip over #10YearsAgo. A couple of seabirds followed the ferry and provided some entertainment and we got nice closeup views form below.

- Seen from an old France trip over #10YearsAgo in Normandy close to La Havre. Just south of La Havre across the Normandy bridge, there are some nice sandy beaches. Here is someone looking at the reflections in the wet sand.
- From that time over #10YearsAgo I spotted a humungous orbweaver spider outside. Looks even more scary through a macro lens.
- The Brighton Palace Pier with the old Brighton Pier sign #10YearsAgo. I think the front sign is now different.
- From a road trip along the coast of Northern French in Brittany over #10YearsAgo. These are probably ropes for fishing nets we saw in one of the coastal towns.

- Watching the Calais ferries during an old France road trip over #10YearsAgo, this is a Seafrance ferry that was just lit up.
- From travels #10YearsAgo in Sweden and macro photography in Uppsala botanic garden. It was summer pollination time and bees are feeding and spreading pollen on these flowers. They are really hairy as seen in the closeups.
- Seen at the Stockholm city hall area in a trip to Stockholm over #10YearsAgo, this tourist was very daring by shaping a shot on the edge of the wall.
- An evening meal with featuring some hot chilli oil and some wine. From an old France road trip over #10YearsAgo.
- From over #10YearsAgo, the Starbucks in St Pancras was still not open and they had this big coffee coloured sign up.
- Seen from an old France trip over #10YearsAgo. This stature was also found at the Paris Notre Dame cathedral (I think). The pattern in the stone makes it look like it's weeping. The b/w processing only makes the contrast more pronounced.
- Scientific equipment seen over #10YearsAgo. This is a machine where you can mount a diamond knife to cut specimen into extremely thin slices.
- Seen from an old France trip over #10YearsAgo in Normandy close to La Havre. We saw this deer in the forest just along the coastal beach.
- This is from a cathedral visit #10YearsAgo to get some nice bokeh stained glass window shots. Some of the stained glass tell stories with characters.
