MBTA F40PH #1011 shoves a Boston bound commuter train out of Ayer, while Amanda and Dan McCarthy photograph a Pan Am crew coming off the wye with a bright pair of KCS SD70ACe’s for train 23K. Definitely a pair of paint scheme’s I’d never thought would have met in my lifetime. These were the good days!

Lothian Buses no. 1011 (LXZ 5394) is an October 2010 registered Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini new to Centrewest as BF60 UUV (VN37910). It later operated as Metroline VW1862 before being bought by Lothian in 2018 as their 1011. It was also heavily refurbished by Wrightbus of Ballymena prior to entering service in Edinburgh.
A Lockheed L-1011 landing in Boston in August of 1987. Scanned from a Kodachrome 64 slide. Was it Joni Mitchell who said, "You don't know what you got til it's gone?!" There will probably never be another three engine wide body again.
Lockheed TriStar L-1011 is a wide-body passenger aircraft which was abandoned at King Hussein airport following a few unsuccessful business arrangements. After some time, ASEZA managed to organize it's scuttling near the old phosphate transport port. Around twenty of the world’s renowned underwater photographers and videographers gathered to witness the occasion.
Lockheed was prepared and positioned for scuttling at the location of King Abdullah Reef on 26.08.2019. After the ceremony, air was slowly removed from the balloons and the plane started its slow, controlled descent. After 20 minutes, only the tail and part of the pilot’s cabin were above water. It landed on the sea bottom, leaving the last bubbles of air behind it.
CN has recently added a handful of CEFX AC4400CW's to its ragtag lease fleet, and here CEFX 1011 trails CN 3055 as potash train CN B730 passes under a soon to be replaced signal bridge as it leaves Turcot West with a new crew for the run to Joffre Yard.
