With the increased capacity required due to social distancing, the former Brighton & Hove high capacity Scania Omnidekkas are now in regular service, having been initially transferred over to give capacity for school and college contracts.

As I was driving out of the city home, I found 1008 on stand in Portswood, so quickly pulled over and snapped it a few times. It is pictured on route 2 from Fair Oak to Southampton - I also saw one of these on the prestigious route 1 to Winchester during the evening peak as well.

Eight-wheeler locomotive 1008 was built at Kingston, Ontario, in 1910. When it was taken out of service in 1957 it was relocated to one of the last remaining stretches of original Grand Trunk Railway track at a site near Upper Canada Village.

LXZ 5390 is a Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini new to Centrewest in October 2010 as BF60 UUR (VN37904). It later worked for Metroline as their VW1856 before joining the Lothian Buses fleet as their 1008 in 2018 as LXZ 5390.

It is seen here on Princes Street whilst working service 4 to Fairmilehead.

Volvo BZL electric 1008 on Longwood Road in Dudlow's Green.

Until recently this was served by just three buses per day (and only two going back in to town) but now has an hourly all-day frequency in both directions.
