I completed a photo of the day in 2009 and 2012. I thought I'd do it again since I didn't take as many photos last year.

I've been going back and fourth to the hospital visiting my Great Auntie. The place was really quiet. I got a telephoto lens for Christmas and cannot wait to go out and take photos of nature with it :)

The Soviet-designed Bronevaya Maschina Piekhota (BMP-1) was first built in the early 1960s and initially seen in public in a November 1967 Red Square parade. It represented an important shift from the concept of an armoured personnel carrier to an armoured infantry combat vehicle, combining high mobility, effective anti-tank weapons, and armoured protection for infantry. It was significantly smaller than Western APCs and had considerably greater firepower (for the time).

Its low silhouette hull has a sharp sloping front with a conspicuously ridged surface. A centrally located, extremely flat, truncated cone turret mounts a 73mm smoothbore gun and a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, both of which are unstabilised. A launch rail for AT-3 Sagger anti-tank guided missiles is above the gun. The BMP is propelled through water by its tracks and has the range and speed necessary to keep up with the fast-moving tanks it normally follows in offensive formations.

Because of the extreme vulnerability demonstrated by the BMP in the 1973 Middle East war, there has been extensive debate in the Soviet Army as to how this vehicle should be used in battle. It has thin armour (19mm in the hull, 23mm in the turret) which only provides protection against .50 calibre armour-piercing rounds over the 60° frontal arc, and the vehicle is extremely vulnerable to ATGM and tank fire. The BMP is further limited because it can only maintain its 70 km/h top speed for short periods of time because of high levels of vibration and risk of transmission failure.

This example, with what appears to be Czech markings, is in the Cold War Hall at the RAF Museum's site in Cosford, Staffordshire.

Thirty Strangers - One Question: What makes you happy?

She said that she couldn't think of anything that made her happy and got all nervous and didn't know what to write. But after a little bit of thought I think she came up right because McFlurrys are pretty much ice cream with little chunks of delicious happiness mixed through! Am I right or am I right?

B-1 Bomber at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum.

The Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum (WOR) is located on the former grounds of Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. The museum, which opened in 1994, is housed in the 40,000 sq ft (4,000 m2) Hangar #1 built in 1939. The museum preserves the history of Lowry AFB's operations from 1938 to 1994 in its collections, archives, and research library. Features of the museum's collection includes Colorado Aviation Historical Society's Alexander Eaglerock biplane built in Englewood, USAF's B-1A Lancer bomber, and many other military and generation aircraft.

The Rockwell (now part of Boeing) B-1 Lancer is a strategic bomber used by the United States Air Force. First envisioned in the 1960s as a supersonic bomber with sufficient range and payload to replace the B-52 Stratofortress, it developed primarily into a low-level penetrator with long range and supersonic speed capability. Its development was stopped and restarted multiple times over its history, as the theory of strategic balance changed from flexible response to mutually assured destruction and back again. It eventually entered service more than 20 years after first being studied.

The B-1B production version has been in service with the United States Air Force (USAF) since 1986. The Lancer serves as the supersonic component of the USAF's long-range bomber force, along with the subsonic B-52 and B-2 Spirit. The bomber is commonly called the "Bone" (originally from "B-One"). With the retirement of the EF-111 Raven in 1998 and the F-14 Tomcat in 2006, the B-1B is the U.S. military's only active variable-sweep wing aircraft. (Wikipedia)

I'm going to do the 52 week challenge~

I don't think I'd be able to take a self portrait (one that is good, at least) everyday for a year, so this is my (lazy) alternative to 365.

I'm really proud that I didn't totally miss my focus, even though its f/1.2!! Before today I was completely incapable of getting myself even slightly in focus.. ^^;;

(I feel like holding one camera and taking my picture with another is almost cheating! hahahaha

Included the alternatives if you wanna see them, but they are about 7 comments down;;;)

I bit the bullet! I'm going to attempt a 365 challenge this year!

I was annoyed with myself when I realised I missed yesterday's photo already (what a great start, hahaha) but then I realised that since this year is a leap year there will be 366 days anyway! So let's start on January 2nd and make it a 365 anyway. :P

I've decided to set myself some ground rules to make this happen. One of the reasons I didn't want to do a 365 originally was because I was worried my pictures would be mediocre and boring all the time. That is why I've told myself that to hell with it, I should just try anyway. Even if not all the pictures are amazing, it will give me a great incentive to photograph my dolls more often (which I suppose is why we are all here, at the end of the day). Hopefully if I don't put too much pressure on myself, I will enjoy this challenge more!

Since I have 26 dolls at the moment my plan is to photograph one doll a week until everyone gets their two week's worth! Hopefully that will keep me motivated. :)

Wish me luck! :D
