These photos are from the first day of the 2022 WonderCon. This is the best ComicCon and it was nice to go back again after it was cancelled for the past two years. Thanks to all the awesome Cosplayers that let me shoot with them. I feel bad that I'm not up to speed on who the characters being portrayed at all. Feel free to educate me. Thanks!

I took these photos in on Friday, 1 April 2022, the first day of WonderCon.

With the announcement this afternoon, from owners SSE, three out of four of the generation units are 'likely' to close on 1 April 2016 the future for Fiddlers Ferry Power Station looks bleak. The station was to close by 2019 but this news comes as rather a shock, maybe it's a weird early April Fool.

For the record 60 065 Spirit of Jaguar enters the unloading hopper with 6F89 06.16 Liverpool Bulk Terminal to Fiddlers Ferry, the 60's and services from the bulk terminal are now history soon to be followed by the power station they served.

1 april, kikker in je bil / 1st of April, frog in your butt

Where does this expression come from? That has to do with the origin of the April 1 jokes, which lies with the Duke of Alva. It was his idea in the 16th century to fool the Dutch people. Together with King Filip II, he had decided to put a whole load of stew, herring and white bread in the vicinity of Leiden, and then secretly lay the whole army behind a hill. When all the people of Leiden came outside the city gates to get all those goodies, the Spaniards appeared, all with a frog in their hand! They then pushed them into the buttocks of the people of Leiden. Well, Spaniards laugh, people from Leiden don't, and then Alva thought it was beautiful. He went home again. This is of course not in the Dutch history books, because it is not really a proud moment for the Netherlands ... In Spain people still laugh about it tasty

Campbell House is a historic house in downtown Toronto, Canada. It is the oldest remaining house from the original site of the Town of York and was built by Upper Canada Chief Justice Sir William Campbell and his wife Hannah in 1822. The home was designed for entertaining and comfort, and constructed at a time when the Campbells were socially and economically established and their children had grown to adulthood.

The house is one of the few remaining examples of Georgian architecture left in Toronto and is constructed in a style in vogue during the late Georgian era known as Palladian architecture.

In 1972 the last owners of the property, the Coutts-Hallmark Greeting Cards Company, wanted to demolish the house in order to extend their parking lot. Prior to demolition the house was offered to anyone who could remove it from the property. A professional association of trial lawyers known as the Advocates Society, launched a campaign to save the building. Eventually it was arranged that the building would be moved to its current location at the corner of University Avenue and Queen Street West, south of the Canada Life Building. With assistance from maintenance trucks of the Toronto Transit Commission, the 270 tonne home was moved 1617 metres northwest from Adelaide Street to its current location in 1972. The move was a major spectacle, and attracted a large crowd as several downtown streets had to be shut down. Fully restored, it was reopened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother on 1 April 1972.

The preservation of the house was an important turning point in architectural preservation in Toronto. During the 1950s and 1960s, 19th-century homes were demolished at a rapid rate; architect Eric Arthur even predicted that by the year 2000, there may be no 19th-century buildings left in the city.[1] The spectacle of the physical move to save Campbell House was a preservation achievement which sparked greater interest among Torontonians to save other local landmarks when they became threatened.

Today, the home serves as both a historic house museum and a club for the members of the Advocates Society. The museum also includes an art gallery.

The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe (German: Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas), also known as the Holocaust Memorial (German: Holocaust-Mahnmal), is a memorial in Berlin to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust, designed by architect Peter Eisenman and engineer Buro Happold. It consists of a 19,000-square-metre (200,000 sq ft) site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs or "stelae", arranged in a grid pattern on a sloping field. The original plan was to place nearly 4,000 slabs, but before the unveiling a new law was enacted mandating memorials to be wheelchair accessible.[citation needed] After the recalculation, the number of slabs that could legally fit into the designated areas was 2,711. The stelae are 2.38 m (7 ft 9+1⁄2 in) long, 0.95 m (3 ft 1+1⁄2 in) wide and vary in height from 0.2 to 4.7 metres (8 in to 15 ft 5 in).[2] They are organized in rows, 54 of them going north–south, and 87 heading east–west at right angles but set slightly askew.[4][5] An attached underground "Place of Information" (German: Ort der Information) holds the names of approximately 3 million Jewish Holocaust victims, obtained from the Israeli museum Yad Vashem.

Building began on 1 April 2003, and was finished on 15 December 2004. It was inaugurated on 10 May 2005, sixty years after the end of World War II in Europe, and opened to the public two days later. It is located one block south of the Brandenburg Gate, in the Mitte neighbourhood. The cost of construction was approximately €25 million
