Das Tynkkylänjoki Manor ist ein Herrenhaus in Savonlinna. Die ersten Aufzeichnungen darüber stammen aus dem Jahr 1561, als Paavo und Pekka Tynkkyinen die Kontrolle über die Tynkkyläjoki-Farm erlangten. Seitdem hatte es zahlreiche Besitzer. Es ist bekannt, dass das Hauptgebäude des Herrenhauses 1737 abbrannte, und aus dieser Zeit stammt wahrscheinlich der älteste Teil des Hauptgebäudes, da seitdem keine Brände mehr bekannt sind. September 22, 2020. Czekanów. Poland. The diesel locomotive TEM2-093 hauling a freight train from sand mine Kotlarnia to sand unloader "Wojciech" in Zabrze. After a huge network of industrial sand railways there are only a few dozen kilometers of track left. The presented train is one of the last sand trains to be launched by the Kotlarnia sand mine. From the new year on, there will be no railroads in this place.

New toys arrived today: a pair of SB-700 speedlights, flash stands, and a few other lighting-related accessories, and I couldn't resist playing with them this evening. Of course, I had to pick this Hohner “Blues Harp” harmonica, a subject that was one big reflective surface, but why make it easy on myself? Besides, it’s Monday, and until I run out of instruments around the house, I shoot musical instruments if I don’t get a shot during the day on Mondays.
Really just played around, trying to get a feel for how the flashes behaved, experimenting with multiple flash groups, augmenting the flash with a softbox, and so on. Was nice to be able to experiment a bit for a change indoors while handheld; none of my previous lighting arrangements really let me do that. Time to really learn how to use these things correctly, though.
This is one of the experiments. The harmonica is on a wool scarf (thus the highlights that look like hairs–because they are).
My best recollection of the setup is: Nikon D7000 w/Nikkor 18-200mm @ 112mm w/18mm macro tube, 1/60s @ ƒ/22, ISO100. One SB-700 behind and above subject, in Group A at -1.0ev, Another SB-700 to camera right in front of subject in Group B at -0.3ev. Tweaked the colors a bit in Aperture, along with some slight cropping and burning the area of the scarf just a bit.
Not too shabby for just horsing around, I guess. Does look better in the lightbox, so hit ‘L’ if you’re so inclined.
While driving on a country road in a small town near here I came across these oil tanks. It was the only thing I saw that was interesting, so I made a few images of them and turned this one into a monochrome.

Der Totentempel der Hatschepsut stammt aus der 18. Dynastie und ist der am besten erhaltene Tempel in Deir el-Bahari am Westufer des Nil in Theben. Auffällig ist seine eigenwillige Architektur. Die Pylone sind durch offene Pfeilerhallen am Anfang je einer Terrasse ersetzt. Der gesamte Tempel ist aus Kalkstein errichtet. Wikipedia
