Quyllur Rit'i - religious festival and pilgrimage held annually in Sinakara Valley, Peru. The Sinakara Valley and the holy mountain Qullqipunku with its glacier have been the pilgrimage destination long before Europeans discovered Peru. In 18th century the pilgrimage was 'baptised' and since then it is a mixture of indigenous and Catholic belifes and symbolism.

Big batch of cloud pictures!
Clouds are one of Mom Nature's best and most playful art forms! Their variety is neverending. This big batch spans a couple of years and several locations. One batch was taken on vacation summer before last, when I first got my present camera. Most of those were taken out the car window on our way west, as I was practicing with the new camera. I declared that we just didn't have wonderful clouds like those back home.
Then, after we got home, I discovered that I just wasn't looking up often enough! They may not occur here on such a daily basis, but we have fabulous cloud days here too. I am blessed to live almost at the end of a dead end street, next to a big meadow, with land behind us that is in process of becoming a nature park. It's a great place to walk in most weather, and a great place to take great cloud/ sky pictures. Many of these pics are taken there at various times.
I'm marking all of these as creative commons, feel free to use as texture layers or backgrounds or whatever you like. Mom nature puts this show on for free all the time, so what I've had the joy of catching on camera can go play anywhere you'd like it to. Hope you enjoy!
STS135-S-080 (8 July 2011) --- At NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, space shuttle Atlantis' main engines and solid rocket boosters ignite on Launch Pad 39A leaving behind a billow of steam as it lifts off on its STS-135 mission to the International Space Station. Onboard are NASA astronauts Chris Ferguson, commander; Doug Hurley, pilot; Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim, both mission specialists. STS-135 will deliver the Raffaello multi-purpose logistics module packed with supplies and spare parts for the space station. Atlantis also carries the Robotic Refueling Mission experiment that will investigate the potential for robotically refueling existing satellites in orbit. In addition, Atlantis will return with a failed ammonia pump module to help NASA better understand the failure mechanism and improve pump designs for future systems. STS-135 will be the 33rd flight of Atlantis, the 37th shuttle mission to the space station, and the 135th and final mission of NASA's Space Shuttle Program.
